Ping Pong!
Sunday, September 30 12:27 AM
Went out close to 6pm, first to make a trip to the library to get the essentials. Check. Next, headed for Sakae Teppanyaki! Dear suggested having that for dinner. And BOY, was it good. I wished I'd taken some pictures, but that would have made me look uber suaku. (which I could not risk). Anyways, I took the chicken set and he took beef. But between us, we shared most of them and since I didn't take oysters (which came with chicken set), and he didn't want the chawanmushi (which came with his), we both mixed and matched and got what we wanted. Speaking of chawanmushi, I swear I did not know they could like Teppan it on that grill tabletop. WOW. And it wasn't served in some porcelain bowl, it was cooked and presented in an onion shell. (Like you know when you peel the contents of a half onion, leaving just the shell).Yah, that! The chef poured the mixture in and voila! After 10 mins, I had nice piping steamed egg, complete with prawn, crabstick and fish cake! Japanese are so fascinating. Instead of the normal white rice, we opted for ours to be garlic rice too. Smart move by Boyfriend, since the garlic rice is fried in front of you, with eggs and garlic and dried shrimps. Bet you the couple next to us regretted not topping up the difference. Haha. Anyway, 30 mins into the meal, this family of 4 came in. Same table as us, since 1 table can accomodate close to 8 people. And there was this little boy. haha, damn fair. In contrast to his elder bro, whom I thought was so dark he could be malay. Upon closer scrutiny, probably tann. And so the little boy, he came in and greeted the chef like really loudly with a wave: "HELLO!"Oh my god la, so endearing. hahaha. The chef was sorta amused, hahaa. He waved back. They opted for garlic rice too, and y'see, the way the rice is prepared, the chef tops the rice with dried shrimps before serving it to you. Prolly, for aesthetics purposes. The boy shrieked and kept going: "Eeeee.....Take it away from me! "Think he must be afraid of the dried shrimps. Probably never in his 4 years of life have he seen anything like that. I laughed. Boyfriend said he would have slapped the lil tot if it's his son. (but trust me, SAY only).Haha, they ordered udon too. Probably for the little kid. Similarly with the rice, the udon is also served with topping. You know, the kind that looks like shredded bacon. (The stuff on top of Takopachi balls)When given to him, he yelled again: "Is that worm??!"I nearly choked on my last sip of water. And as we were leaving, I heard him say again: "It's moving! It's moving!"HAHAHAHAA. Think this time boyfriend was too, highly entertained by the same boy he wanted to slap earlier. After we worked our tummies to the max, we proceeded to hang around Century while waiting for our flick which starts at 9.15pm. Balls of Fury.
This, by the way, is one hell of a funny show! I laughed so many so many times throughout.
Definitely good enough for a weekend movie.
(Between boyfriend and I, we have come to a consensus of certain movies which are worthwhile of a weekend flick, while which are not. So it gets easy to prioritise.)
The story revolves around some pugilistic match of Ping Pong among the triads.
Oh, and Maggie Q is hot. I'd give anything to have that body and fight like her! Hahaa
Tomorrow (last day of weekend) shall be spent on my long overdue assignment.
Till Monday, when the emails start to flood again.
Ciao all!

Enjoy your saturday, the 48 hour countdown to Monday has just begun.
(This is a fact!)
Violence - totally uncalled for.
12:09 AM
WHAT exactly is going on?Why is there so much violence going on? The last time I recalled we're in 2007, not 1842.God, get educated y'all. Stupid people. Sorry, but I'm just really pissed at the way things are happening around the world. I don't think anyone deserves to be shot or gunned for a mere price hike. Forget it, not like reasoning would solve anyways. Moving onto happier stuff, TGIF!Been telecommuting for the last 2 days. Busier than at work, actually. Cos minus the meetings and lunch hour, you're actually working for full straight hours. After I wrapped up the last email and packed my laptop in the evening, boyfriend picked me up for a good ol' Friday night matinee - The Nanny Diaries. Haven't seen that boy since Monday, miss him a littleeeeeeee bit.
Anyway, back to Scarlett. The movie didn't exactly live up to expectations. A little funny scenes here and there. The little boy is obnoxious so nothing to tug at your heartstrings, maybe until he cries in the last 30 mins.
Shan't go too much into detail, lest you guys might want to catch it for yourself. :)
I hope Balls of Fury tomorrow is good, the trailers (not that I've seen) sounds goddamn funny.
Hahaha, that will probably come after the trip to the library. Saw a nice phone with Dear earlier. We might be getting the same model! Yay, new phone! :)
Oh yes, and have I told? I caught a couple of The Ellen Degeneres show and I really think she is hot.
Witty-hot. Not fishnetstockings-hot.
Given my soft spot for witty people, I'd take her as a lesbian partner (that's presuming if I reallly reallly HAD to choose).
During lunch on Monday, we happened to lunch at CoffeeClub (which was inside Times) and on my way out, I saw and I had to get it!
There were 23 (i think?) different titles. The Little Black Dress series! All very cute and girly covers with damn hilarious stories by different authors.
It even comes with a cute keyring with every 2 books purchased. (such a steal!)
AND SO! I couldn't take it. I got 2 books, and made a silent promise I'll be back for the other 20++. Hahaha
Already finished the first book, it's soooo good.
If you want to read it, it's The Bachelorette's Party by Karen McCullah Lutz. And my 2nd book is Accidentally Engaged.
You see, this kind of titles. How not to get hooked???
Trashy novels, as Jacq calls them. But trust me, she'll be borrowing them after she finishes the other trashy novel - Anyone out there.
Hahahah.
Anyways, it's past midnight.
I gotta recover some sleep and let my liver detoxify. (That's what I read in the papers that the liver work when I'm in deep sleep.)
So, I need to sleep deep. No alarms set for tomorrow.
G'night world.
History or Future?
Sunday, September 23 8:46 PM
My new favourite channel now (besides Ch 55) is Ch 8! Not the Mediacorp Ch 8, the SCV Ch 8. It's the History Channel.
I just randomly caught 'The Countdown to Armageddon' this afternoon after 2 hours of OTB.
I decided I needed to take a 5. Hahaha, but I ended up on the couch for the next 1 hour.
Wow, I was quite pleasantly surprised. They have lotsa history documentaries (which I like!).
This kinda settles my Sunday afternoons from now. Sorry Frankie. This is waaaay more exciting than OTB anytime. Haha
Coming back to the show, it questions if the recent warfares, natural disasters, global warming, alignment of planets are signs that the End of the World is approaching. I don't know, what do you think?
Didn't help that the show sets very obvious examples, till you find it difficult to not be convinced. (I think that's their objective anyway)
Either that, or it's just me. - Very very naive.
And they quote various chapters and citations from the Bible on Prophecies, pointing out those which came true and the others which are going to
(looking from the way the others have came true too..)
And there are the 4 horsemens of the apocalypse as mentioned in Revelation chaper 6, verses 1-8.
Talks like this frighten me in an exciting way. A bit like watching a super thriller.
I'm not morbid la, just have always been super intrigued about stuff like that.
The super natural? (Do I even call it that?) or History would probably be more apt?
But seriously, I'm so interested in reading more, that I google-d non-stop after the show, and now considering getting a Bible to read. (Like a story book)
Anyone know whether that will break my bank? And can anyone tell me the diff between the Old Testament and the New, If I want to read about all these in particular?
Anyway, there is one Precious Moments Bible which I've eyed for a long time cos I thought it looks extremely sweet! (haha)
And the mention of the anti-christ - Satan himself and his infamous 666. They believe he lives among us. And according to the show, they once suspected it was US President Ronald Reagan.
And do you know why?
Just because his full name is Ronald Wilson Reagon. 3 sets containing 6 alphabets each. Haha
Anyway, I shan't go too deep into this topic, cos I understand it's of a sensitive nature.
But those who know me probably know this keeps me up more than any OTB text.
Ciao guys!
Focus, Gina.
3:13 PM
It just suddenly dawned on me that I need to focus. On everything.I randomly thought of a list of priorities in my life right now. - I need to perform at work. On time, on target.
- I need to excel in school. Work smart, not hard. I need the library now!
- I am not saving enough for the future. Chop, chop! Increase savings premium every month.
- I am spending too much on things I don't even see. Reduce, re-use and recycle!
- I need to spend more time with my family and loved ones. Eat dinner more often at home!
- I cannot lose contact with all my friends. We need to fix a permanent date every month to meet. And no excuses for not coming.
- Emphasize on quality of life, not quantity. Get organized. Trash the excess!
- Focus on the future, don't sub-optimise. Don't get too fixated on the present.
- I need to stop procrastinating! Yes, like doing it NOW.
That's it. I shall work on improving my work-life balance.
Quote of the Day
12:23 PM
I read somewhere: Things will always be okay in the end.
If it is not okay, it is not the end.
Just thought I'd share. Have a happy and hopefully LONG Sunday. :)
I TURN 21!
Saturday, September 22 12:57 PM
Hello, hello!
Finally got some time to blog about the week, I barely even have time to sleep till last night.
But then again, I also plonked onto bed close to 2am.
Anyways, here's some pictures from my B-day.
Nothing fancy, just a superdamnsinfullyshiokadusllygooddinner at Kuishin Bo. I've never been there, honestly, and didn't know why Jack is forever so fixated on that place.
So I took her suggestion and we had a fantabulous meal. If you're like me, never been there.
GO there today! The food loooks nice and IS nice! The varieties there will make you go nuts. 2 hours is definitely not enough. I can spend that same amount of time on desserts alone!
Here we go:

They loved the place! Thank goodness, cos I was worried it is to Jap for them.
But hey, even I loved it. (and I don't touch sushi)
Haha
And every like 30 mins or so, they will dish out special items.
And their trademark song will sound.
If you're famliar with their ads, you know the 'Don, Don, Don, 1,2,3....' song.
Haha. It's damn hilarious each time I hear it.
This smoked fish is one of their special items that we were in line to catch.
Looks damn hideous right?
When AL brought we back, we were like, urghh..
BUT!
As Jack clearly endorses, it IS good!
Pan fried dory fish and salmon! (The way I like them - boneless!)
Swear my families ate like half a ton of prawns and crabs.
Didn't try them though, except for 1 crab.
But I can tell it's sure satisfied their platter.

The Alaskan snow crab I took. Veryyyy sweet.

Jack loves it too!
Halfway through, Al asked me to return to my seat.
And before I knew, my dad appeared with this!
He asked them for candles! Hahah. It was cute, but a little paiseh.
The crew announced my birthday through the entire restaurant and sang me a song.
My dad gave them my FULL name, so they went like:
"MS GINA SNG LI BIN ..... Birthday...VIP Table 2..... "
Props to Daddy for being THAT creative. Haha
My 2nd round of dessert!
The man himself.
Complete with Jack's shades.
(She got them for just $.190 at Little India)
The other man-in-making in our family.
He- whole night was more eat, less talk. Think he knew 2 hours was clearly not enough.
Mum's Temakis and Mango mousse......
And someone's (I don't know who) leftover banana eclair and some sushi rolls.
3/5 of the household(Birthday Girl is taking pictures, so she is mostly behind scene)
I don't know what you call this, but I super love this. Esp the beef stock.
Some paper steamboat stuff the Japs dig. Mum took seafood. Jack and I shared the beef bowl.
Fried rice, teriyaki chicken, ebi fry, scallops, chicken sticks, unagi and 5 hungry people.
Digging in!
I love these 2 people.
Okay la, and her too.
(For her great recommendation. Thumbs up!)
Al says: HAPPPY BIRTHDAY in this Rey Mysterio wrestler cape out of nowhere and nearly got me pee in my pants.
This one from my other favourite boy!
Presents!!

Morreeeeee...
This came right in time cos I need a watch!

As you can probably tell, I didn't get a DS light! :(
Haha, kidding! Gifts are really not that important to me as I grow older it seems.
As silly as the saying goes, it's reallly the THOUGHT that counts.
And my best gift is having all the people around me! :)
And well, if you're interested. These 2 munckins are still ALIVE and KICKING.
Shucks.

Somehow, I never quite knew my family were so pro-rodents.
They adore those 2 hamsters!
My only advice, next time you want to get a pet.
Get a bigger one. Like a dog or something.
A labra-doodle will be good!
Celebrations hold till whole of September. So more photos (of me hopefully) till then! Haha!
Lastly, HAPPY 21st TO ME!
I'm finalllllllllly legal and ready to paint the towns red!
Okay, okay. Magenta!
HAM & CHEESE
Sunday, September 16 9:18 PM
I just got 2 hamsters home, and I didn't even realise till Jacq told me about it. That, by the way is the work of ALVIN!If it amuses you at all, they are called Ham & Cheese. H.a.h.a.Anyway, Jacq was playing with them the whole time, and so was Dad. I hate rodents or anything that looks rodent-ish.And by all definition, hamsters ARE a form of rodents. So I'm keeping my distance!Haha, just some photos maybe you guys might be interested in. And don't say I'm not warning them.
That's Dad's Hand

That's Jacq's TANN hand

Don't know this is HAM or CHEESE.

HAHA. This one is Funny. Like praying!
(He already knows his fate!)

Yah, let out somemore.

Hope he shits on her hand.

They better not escape from the palace of a cage, else.......I'll just scream my ass off. Seriously.
Saturday Night
Saturday, September 15 9:37 PM
It's Saturday night and I'm home at 9.40pm.Very rare, but that's cos I'm going out later closer to 11pm.Anyway, yesterday was grrrrrrrrreat!Zipped off cos was on half day. Picked up my new biometric passport at ICA. (Holidays, here I come!)Dropped by Katong for lunch at the oh-so-famous chicken rice.Went str8 to GMR, settled down and cos it was raining so heavily earlier on. My lousy Bata flats finally lost it and we had to get new ones at Parkway. Somehow, I always spend unnecessarily when we have chalet. The last time, for some godforsaken reason - I forgot to bring a shirt to change for the next day so I had to get one from Parkway too.Hahah(I swear it's not some lame excuse to shop. ESPECIALLY when I'm meeting Clara tomorrow for the very purpose!)Got our groceries and went nearby for dinner @ Aston's.They never fail to impress. 'Cept the queue always gets kinda long and since it's beside a road, it practically snakes down all the way. HahaaAfter we returned, plan was to head for some fondue but queue was long.Decided to skip.Headed for cafe instead, gourmet cakes were on 50% after 8pm.Had Mango and Raspberry ones, topped with a Banana smoothie.Best supper in a long time.(It's no wonder I'm getting fat!)Caught Yours, Mine and Ours on cable, and Adam Sandler in Big Daddy (This movie is hilarious!)Fell asleep halfway though. Too beat.Alarm rang at 7.30am, headed out for breakfast. Very good one with eggs, danishes, porridge and miso soup.(It's really no wonder I AM fat!)Returned, nua-ed in bed a little. It's a Saturday afterall. And no one I know gets up at 7am on a weekend morning.Dozed off and woke up at 11am again. HahahaBathed, packed, caught Ice Princess again on cable and finally checked out.Got home and have been snoozing till dinner.Spent the other couple of hours reading my 'Anybody out there' by Marian Keyes.New developments now! And it's sooo funny!Don't know why Ally said it's not nice. Maybe not as nice as Sophie K. But it's good enough for me. HahaIf you recall, this is one of the 3 books I bought the other time. I'm still on the 1st one.Hardly any time these days. But finishing this one soon, so no worries.Going on to Memory Keeper's daughter in a jiffy.Anyway, Diana and I met on Thursday to shop @ Suntec.Unfortch to say, we were so disappointed. There were hardly any good shops there anymore.Needless to say, we returned empty handed. But again, it's always good to catch up! She's one of the people I can talk to, and actually listens to me. HahaaI played with her DS Light on the way home too. Reallly reallly convinced that I should get one too! Show me the moolah!Meeting Clara tomorrow to shop! In her own words - one whole day.Okay lor. Whatever that makes her happy. 'Sides I wanna meet up with that girl too. It's been far too long. She's perpetually busy.Clara - Don't bother contesting that sentence. HahahaSchool-wise, assignments are heading in the right direction. Timeline - well, maybe a little behind.Week 6 is marked on my calendar, and that's my most immediate concern now. Hope I manage to concoct something out for Frankie, Adrian and Mogan by then.Otherwise, I'm so screwed.Work-wise, same as always.Busy busy busy. like a fking bee. Never stops. Time never seem to be enough. But I'm just glad to have colleagues like I do.At least when you can't take the work away, they take the pressure away.
Got this that day from a colleague just on Fri. Just a very sweet gesture, I thought.
Just too bad my name's kinda short.
Would have looked nicer for longer names like maybe
Jacqueline or something.
Thanks anyway! :)
Wed's the big day! Already made reservations for dinner!
Sorry guys, nothin elaborate for my 21st.
I kinda believed more in the family dinner than the huge parties.
Which I believe I will look back and regret one day, but for now.
No time or energy to plan.
Plus, whoever said you can only throw a bash when you turn 21. haha
I'll wait till my favourite people like Jane, Ally and Jaivyn returns.
I'll throw my 22nd maybe.
Hmmm, already 10.30pm.
I gotta change.
And I'm fecking breaking out again! How many fecking more times?
urgh. will it rain tonight? Feel like wear my Pumas out.
Oct, hurry come. I need a holiday badly.
371 days
Sunday, September 9 1:48 PM
On Wed, we went to catch Ratatouille with the entire crew from his place. As much as I hate rodents, the movie was actually cute (Disney seldom disappoints with animation), except maybe in like 2 scenes where ALL the rats came out together. Yup, that gave me goosebumps for a while. Sorry, still not a rat person afterall. Especially when they come in numbers. Had lessons on Tues, Friday (oh god, such a drag!) and Saturday afternoon. Oh! And Sharon's in the same class as me for HRE on Friday. Not that it helps really, cos HRE is terrrrribly boring, he made sucha bad opening to the semester, I decided to skip his lecture this coming Friday!Hahahaa - kidding.I have a chalet! So not much of a choice here. :)Went for WPL yesterday afternoon. Lecture started at 2pm, but try as I might. Only made it to through to lecture at 2.30pm.(Don't worry, there was another guy who came in with me, so I'm not the latest)And for that, I missed my entire week's worth of Love Insurance on Ch 55.Rats.Anyway, my lecturer for WPL is damn animated and his lecture was really (although weird to say) FUN!Our focus is the legal structure of both Singaporea and Australia, and our first lecture kicked off with the indegenous occupants like the aborigines and straits islanders.Hahaa, I'm breaking into a fit of laughter just thinking about it. Adrian must have been from Broadway or something. That accent!Hopped over to Lavender after class which was already 5 plus, and drove our way to the agency to confirm our tickets and made payment! Oct 22th, hurry hurry come.Went town, shared a Seafood Platter for 2 at Fish & Co, and adjourned to Cine for some Catherine Zeta Jones and Aaron Eckhart in No Reservations.
Hmm, slightly disappointed cos the storyline was so predictable. I still think I preferred Evan and Rat. Lessons this week are on Mon and Tues, cos I'm going for the Sat's one on Monday because I'm having chalet- rber? And I'm skipping the Fri - for the same reasons.Gotta go start on my assignments now, this sem is anything but funny.
The word count alone sends me into a frenzy. Oh yah, HSM 2 premieres on Disney channel tonight!Anyway, I think the Vanessa Hudgens fiasco is such a pity. Her career seems to be heading in a great direction until those photos surfaced. It's probably just a matter of time until they announce that she and Zac Efron bites the dust too.Whatever, the complexity of the media world. Lucky for us, we just need a cable set box and a couch to enjoy.Enjoy your week ahead, guys!
OTB kicked off the sem
Tuesday, September 4 11:38 PM
First lesson of the semester kicked off with OTB.. Frankie took a good whole 3 hours. If not for the car, I would have been home only say an hour ago. Lecture was damn damn hilarious anyway. Haha! But assignment's out already. I need to rush again. This time's essay is 6k-10k words. This, was not at all funny. Supposed to have WPL tomorrow, which will be made up on Saturday cos Adrian can't make it or something.
So lame, to take up my weekend like that. And Human Resource Econs on Friday.Yes, FRIDAY. Diana, I don't know how I'm gonna meet you on 28th for our late night shopping. :(Anyway, I went Murdoch uni portal like, a while ago to check on my examination results, and I'm proud to say I gotten a Distinction for OMD!Wheeeeeee! ER's not out yet though, but I'm hoping for the best too. This looks like a good start to a heavy semester. On the other hand, I'm catching Ratatouille tomorrow!
Everyone at work's either saying it's a damn fab movie, or they're bringing their kiddos to the cinemas this week too (since it's school hols)It's a good mid-week movie. Gonna sleep now, nights all.
Countdown: 17 days
Sunday, September 2 1:24 PM
With just 17 days to my birthday, I am pleased to unveil The Lengendary List.Haha, it's a bit like those wedding list they have in the states where you go around the mall scanning the items you want and your guests are free to get them for you.Good idea, we should have it here too. I'll go crazy with the scanner! Here we go:
I need a new Mp3- my Zen micro died on me.
It's tragic.
For that, I'd like a new one - in this model preferably. Pink?

OH! And this! I had to show you guys. But don't worry a bit.
They aren't available here in Sg. These Mp3-Handphones are from Samsung and probably available only in Korea.
Very similar to the idea of that phone Beyonce is advertising for.
Only this scores a notch up the cute charts.
It's so pretty, ain't it?? Samsung should bring it in.
Or if it's already on this way, someone let me know!

The V3xx I've wanted since like forever. I'm not wild about the functions.
I just think the phone always manages to transform anyone using it into some power pack high flyer!
Chic!
And there's BeneTint, from the new line Benefit.
This gloss is reallllly pretty. And I checked it out @ Tangs last week. That's $65 for a stick.
Ever since I laid my hands on Seow Min's DS Lite, I wanted one!
I hope someone gets me this. Dadddy?

Get me my first GAP. (I really don't own anything from GAP yet)
After Gucci, my latest crush is Burberry!
I lurrrrrrrrve the house checks! Someone get me this Georgie!
(else I'll just wait for my year end bonus. Heh)
And this wallet is a sight to behold too. I loveeeeeeeeeee.
If all else fails (or just simply too pricey), a good ol' dinner with you guys would be an equally fab idea too.
I just dread the thought that as we all grow up, we see less and less of each other.
Work is important, but at the end of the day, it's friends who never make you work OT.
Anyway, no dogs on my list this year, cos I reckon house is already small enough for 5 humans.
No room for dogs. Hahaa
(And Mum does not particularly like them, and we have no maid to care for it in the day etc etc etc)
But on hindsight, it is a great way to lose weight by walking the dog.
And always chic to bring it out to town.
Ok, maybe in 20 years time, when I retire.
Ok everyone! -claps-
Time to save up.
Myself too, just in case I don't get anything.
My alter-ego Princess of the Malls will get them for me.
Hahahah
Happy Sunday, everyone.
