And the fact that I withheld any shopping for the past 1 month, shopping in KL was sucha breeze! :)
Day 1 - 24 March 08
Woke up at an ungodly hour of 4.30am, packed the last minute stuff, bathed and all set for the great escapade. Dear drove by to pick me up at 5.30am. Headed to Mac for breakfast! We're prolly the first customers that morning.
Haha
Made our way to his place, parked the car and took the long ride to Dhoby Ghaut station. We're taking Luxury Tours this time, and the pickup point was at Le Meridien Hotel, which explains the MRT ride to Dhoby Ghaut.
This is how our bus looks like!

Honestly, I prefer Luxury so much more than Grassland, although this is less heard of.
The seats are much more comfortable and very roomy , movies are all newly released, food and drinks provided, there's even a coach guide which Grassland didn't offer. What more could anyone ask for?
Oh yes! The sole fact that Luxury Tours made a stop at the cleaner Yong Peng already won me over.
(If you recall how traumatised I was during the last trip when Grassland gave us a break at Yong Peng, the dirtier one. Eww)
Thumbs up for Luxury! =)

It's double-decked coach. The lower deck is a lounge. All the passengers are seated in the upper deck.

On the way to Tuas Checkpoint. Traffic and weather both didn't give us any problems.
The in-house entertainment system. Music, Videos, Movies. You name it.
At the checkpoint. The coach behind us in the queue is called Lapan Lapan, which is 8-8 in Malay. Haha
Don't ask me why, I was highly entertained by the name.
It wasn't as bad as I expected. I heard horrible news like 2 hours of waiting. We were only stuck for 30 mins or so.
Finally, after 4 hours plus, we reached the first drop-off, Hotel Istana. Those who were staying there alighted, while the rest of us continued our journey to our respective hotels.
Dorsett Hotel, opposite Hotel Istana
Yay, finally we got to our hotel - Alpha Genesis. We stayed here the previous visit and were impressed by its service and location, thus coming back again. I don't think this will be our last time here. =)
Dropped down our luggage and rested for a while, we headed off to first stop. KLCC Shopping Mall!
KLCC is slightly further, so we walked a great distance to the monorial before transiting at their MRT (which is not called MRT of course, I forgot the name)
The station - Dang Wangi. It brings back funny moments cos when we were coming back from Dang Wangi, Dear ran into some problems with his card.
When the station staff asked him which station he came from, he said Dangi Wang. (I guess he took a cue from Sungei Wang - also a major shopping area)
Hahaha, the staff was highly amused.

Dang Wangi looks a tad like Tiong Bahru Station to me.
Boyfriend and I!

I was so busy shopping at KLCC, I forgot to take pictures. Some of the shops we went to were the likes of Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Zara, Espirit, Vincci (they sell prettttty shoes! I managed to get 2!).
KLCC is very tourist-friendly, because for visitors like us, we can redeem a Tourist Card which offers various great discounts, some amounting to 20%. Very attractive in addition to the already fantastic exchange rates and RM prices!
They still have A&W by the way, and of course we did! Order a root beer float! Yummmm! Lunch was at Kim Gary! Nice!
I'm so going back to the only Kim Gary outlet at Vivocity.
On the way back from KLCC, we came across the Petronas Twin Towers! That is in our itinerary for 2nd day.
The Malaysian monorail
And busy traffic.
When we got back, it was already close to evening and the hunger pangs have started to kick in. Walked around and settled for Planet Hollywood. We ordered Fish & Chips, Baked Beef Pasta, Chef Salad.
Servings were huge, we went from starved to stuffed.

My Fish and Chips! (which Dear later couldn't resist and swopped it with his Beef Pasta halfway)
Dear and his Baked Pasta.

Pavilion, like KLCC is a upmarket shopping district. Our main purpose is going there besides getting Alvin's birthday present is for .....
J.Co Donuts!
Yes yes, I know we have them in Singapore already, but when Dear saw someone carrying the J.Co plastic bag, he had a sugar craving and was determined to get a donut in his stomach. Haha.
We bought 1/2 a dozen and had them for supper back in the hotel.
You can see, there were only 3 left when I took this picture.

2nd Day - 25 March 2008
Bright and early, we headed to KL Tower.
On the way there (by foot!), we came across this interesting looking van, looks a bit like our ice-cream van if you ask me. People seemed like they were crowding around to choose their flavours.
As I zoomed closer, I realised. It's NOT an ice-cream van! It's the postman van! People were collecting their mail. Hahaha, how cute!
Getting closer and closer to our destination. The sweltering weather is a good thing when you decide to do some sightseeing. Thank god it didn't rain that day.
Finally, at the foot of the KL tower. Feels like I've scaled Mt Everest. We then waited for the shuttle to send us to the top, as the KL tower is located on a hill (I think).
It's just very high up and climbing up on feet never ever crossed my mind. Haha
When we got there, we paid for admission (RM20 for 1 adult) and was brought to this elevator to bring us up. It went close to 300metres up, took about 20 seconds, I think. Ears were blocked on the way up. We were also given an introduction to the tower.
It's apparently the 4th tallest communications tower in the world.
We were also given this video and headset to strap round our necks. The video gave further introduction to the tower, but it was very heavy after a while.
Some of the view taken from up on the Observation Deck.
The Petronas Twin Tower!
Dear managed to find our hotel! Hahaha, There, can you spot it? The short building in the centre of all the other giants.
Us with the Twin Towers as Backdrop.
The strap round my neck is the video I'm talking about. Heavy!
After it all, we went back to Pavilion again. This time to catch a movie - An Empress and the Warriors. Not sure if I got the title right, but it's the chinese flick with Kelly Chan, Leon Lai and Donnie Yen.
Very nice, seats were very grand as well. And for such facilities, we expect to pay up to 20 bucks in Singapore?
You'll be surprised in Malaysia, tickets are onlky 9RM (That is less than $4.50SGD!) and since it was so cheap, we decided to take the couple seat tickets. Only RM 22! (Less than $11 SGD for 2 people!)
His namesake with an additional 'B' in Robbins. Haha
After the movie ended, we made our way back to Bukit Bintang Plaza and Sungei Wang. Oh, shopping there is GREAT. Clara, you will love it.
I bought a pair of New Balance shoes, my 2nd pair of Vincci, 2 dresses, 2 working tops! Good buy cos they were all much cheaper than in Sg and the designs you prolly won't find here.
Dinner was at Shaky's Pizza!
3rd Day - 26 March 08
Third day is when we are supposed to return back to Singapore. Our coach is at 2pm, and while we have some time, we made our last trip to Times Square. Took neo prints over there! Very pretty! I'll scan and upload soon.
Not much pictures taken there, cos we were in a hurry. To get everything we need and to return to Hotel Istana by 1.30pm.
I got another dress! :)
Took lunch at a Chinese restaurant, last proper meal before we boarded the coach. Should last us for the next 5 hours back to sunny island, Singapore.
The ride was good, but it rained a little on the way back. Still, we managed to reach back at Le Meridien hotel by 7pm and had Carls Jr for dinner. The past few days of eating is sooo sinful!
Took a cab home with Boyfriend. Working the next day doesn't seem so bad afterall. Probably cos I was thinking of the work that was piling up. Hahaha
Alright guys, that's all for my first holiday in 2008. Next one to come in 3 months! I can't wait! Thanks Dear!
Next KL trip will probably be in Sept/Oct. More shopping till then!
Love,
Gina
This group of people are fun. Sometimes, they feel more than colleagues to me. It's a bit like relatives. I doubt I even see my relatives as often as I see these bunch.
Thank god for fabulous colleagues like them! =) I think people pray everyday for nice colleagues to work with. (Considering you spend more than 1/3 of your time at work)
Today is a great day for many reasons (although I'm home alone at 11.04pm on the eve of a Public Holiday typing this).
Firstly, tomorrow is Good Friday. Therefore, I can sleep as late as I like! Yay! I've been so sleep deprived for the longest time! It doesn't even feel like it's only Thursday. It feels like 2 consecutive weeks without Saturdays and Sundays.
Hahaha
Secondly, they announced Bonus quantum today! Yay$$! In addition to my fab quantums, Dear (as promised) will sponsor my hair job. =)
Thirdly, I handed up the long dreaded assignment in class today. This frees up my weekend.
Whatever for? Because...........
There is this super loooooong weekend ahead.
After ejoying the whole of Friday, we have Saturday. After Saturday comes Sunday.
After Sunday, comes................... KL 2008!
Yup, I will be travelling up north to KL on Monday for a short getaway with Boyfriend. Will be gone for 3 days, don't miss me.
I'll be back with plenty of photos, and probably clothes, shoes and what nots.
Catch ya all in a bit.
Sorry for the abrupt ending, my lenses are threatening to pop out any moment. Hee
My folks
Alvin
Spent the whole afternoon (cos woke up only at 1pm) working on projects and whatnots. Dear was helping out with Suhaimi's wedding (Congrats!) and so was up and about early in the morning.
He was the assigned chauffeur, hahaha cos apparently Suhaimi likes the colour of his car.
So there you go, pictures of the decorated car! I thought it was quite nicely done, considering the wedding planners set it up at 7am?
Haha
He came to pick my up for dinner in the evening, we drove to Changi Airport with the bouquet on his car. Everyone was looking in. I felt like half a bride. Haha
Had Popeyes for dinner! Yummm and made our way down to Henderson for the wedding planners to remove the decorations.

This was taken at night.
Us just before dinner at Changi Airport T3!
Hmm, short week ahead! I'm so happy. Fri, Sat, Sun for hanging out. Mon -Wed hit KL!
Whee, life is great!
Oh yes, project deadlines on Thurs. Damn.
