Chai Yin's Last Day
Tuesday, April 29 8:24 PM
It was Chai Yin's last day yesterday! It was kinda sad cos she's like our rock! And rocks don't move.. *sob!Anyways, I'm happy for her that she's got offered a great position elsewhere, plus she promised to keep in contact! We had tonnes of fun the whole day. Brought her to Charcoal for lunch with the whole HR team where we had a 4 course lunch. Yummilicious! Took some photos too, but gotta wait till Dear Analyn uploads and sends them to us. Meanwhile, we'll make do with photos taken with my handphone. :)Around 4pm after all the meetings, we called Chai Yin on her DID and asked her to come to The Joint, with my seemingly fake 'urgent' voice. Haha, we lied to her that we were in (another!) meeting and required her inputs urgently. When she came in, we told her we have been informed she can't leave at the end of the day.. and that she has to stay for 2 more months for handover. Hahaa This was knowing she was going on an overseas trip on Wed.Funny, but she saw through our trick la. We're so lousy, or that Chai Yin really knows us well. Haha :)Gave her the present, and we took lotsa crazy shots. Chai Yin with her gift
We were supposed to look like we're thinking. Think it was Bern's idea.

Tried to get a shot of all of us in it, cos my phone doesn't have the function of the front camera. Haahaha, you could tell how tough this was.
And you could tell, this ain't perfect either.

Bernadette: "Am I Cute?"
Chai Yin: "I AM Cuter!"

Analyn: "Sheesh, Gina, are you gonna tell them the truth or do I have to do it?"

Okay, side-by-side comparison!
Hahahaah

We made Chai Yin do the Xi-Nu-Ai-Le face, but since there were 5 shots. Analyn included Jing (shock).

Analyn, Chai Yin and Myself!

Analyn and Chai Yin

Us 4 again!
Analyn-me-Bernadette. In Heart : Chai Yin
I was sitting on the pool table, in case you couldn't tell. Haha
Doesn't this photo make Analyn and I look like the devils while Chai Yin and Bernadette look like the innocent victims? Haha
They say to act cute. I failed miserably.
It just doesn't come naturally for me. I look digusting. Haha
Last picture of Chai Yin and Bernadette.

Spent the past 2 nights out. Dead tired now, so I'm gonna attempt to sleep early tonight.
Can't wait for chalet on Friday! :)
Haha, nights all!
Mariners' Corner
Sunday, April 27 12:48 AM
Remember I mentioned I was going to Maritime House for dinner today? Got some photos to show you guys of the place. The restaurant is in Maritime House, which is off Cantonment Road. It's called Mariner's Corner if I didn't get it wrong. Boyfriend saw the review on papers some days back so we decided to try it out this weekend. We were not at all disappointed! :) I'll let the photos do the talking. Don't worry Jas, you aren'the only one posting food and more food. (Read: Horror entry on gina cooking instant mee, haha)Very quaint layout.
The actual size is about 3 - 4 times the photo, but my seat only allowed this angle to be shot.

Reminds me of The Ship Restaurant in KL.
Dear ordered a T-bone for himself and I had this chicken steak and sausage combo. The entire dinner came with......Salad Bar Delights

....Soup of the Day
You could tell he really liked it. :)

...Main Course
This was my chicken and sausage combo, with potato, carrots and squash by the side.

And this was his T-bone steak.

...Not forgetting dessert of the day, which was brownie.
Coffee/tea was also served.

On recommendations, we tried their calamari as appetisers too.
It was damnn good, very tangy.

A fan of their rings.
You may have realised there are no photos of me, cos I was the photographer snapping away! Haha

Wanted to take the picture of the restaurant's name printed on the serviette,
but it's not very sharp, is it?

After dinner, we drove to town and caught Harold and Kumar! You guys may have known them from White Castle (which I missed!)
Nonetheless, this sequel is funny too! Whole cinema was laughing hard.
These 2 guys are wacko, especially Kumar! I actually think John Cho (Harold's real name) is quite cute.

And since Great Singapore Sale starts next month, I have already shortlisted some items on my shopping list.
Don't scream.
First up, Tag Heuer Ladies Aquaracer!
I went to take a look today and they are having 20%!
Hope GSS brings in greater discount! Black - nice?
And my beloved Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM!
I am a total sucker for huge totes, but this, unfortch is sold out in Singapore.
I plan to get it in HK's DFS when I travel in June. :)

I know what you're thinking.. NO LA! I'm not extravagant. I've been saving for them, so it's not exactly splurging. I'm sure Clara is disagreeing with her hands and legs up. Hahaa
I may or may not get them due to budget constraints. Sigh, that's reality. But well, at least there's something to keep me motivated. Herzberg thought us well.
First you satisfy your hygiene factors, then you derive motivation from motivators.
Also, saw a Agnes B bag today, which is utterly cute. Boyfriend may buy me that. Yayness.
Tomorrow is Sunday, all too soon. The routine follows, gym, wash car and watch TV to sleep.
Ciao guys. Btw, I checked. Mother's Day is 11 May 08! (Just in case no one knew!)
Nights world. :)

AHRP Disaster
Wednesday, April 23 1:09 AM
SIGH!The paper today was a DISASTER! Why?? Have I not seen those words before?? Hmmmm? RICHARD?? Thankfully Jan and the rest were equally disgusted with the standard of the killer paper. I'm screaming 1st degree murder! At least I'm not the only one. Hmph, RICHARD!! Wth! Anyway, Dear came to pick me up after my paper. It was kinda funny initially cos I told him the paper will last 2 hours, and I should be done by 9pm. Only after I met up with Janelle at the exam hall and we proudly walked into Margaux room, then I saw written on the big white board:Start: 7:00pmEnd: 10.10pmOh no! It's a 3 hour paper! The 2 hour paper is on Thurday! Hahaha, damn blur. Immediately texted him to make sure he doesn't end up in town too early. Paper started soon after and you already know it was horrible. (RICHARD!!) If I have to caps his name one more time, I think I will fume smoke. I left around 9.30pm and met Janelle at the ladies. We were laughing at how silly our answers would look to the markers. HahaAnyway, Dear came around and picked me up outside Meridien Hotel and guess what he passed me?A beautifully (okay, maybe just standard) wrapped Isetan gift box! Yummy!
Took me just 30 seconds to unwrap it, I think. Couldn't wait. Haha
He got me a pretty little tote from Le Sport Sac! Pretty pretty! :) That's an end-of-examinations reward, so it's strictly embargoed till after Thursday.
Hahaha, it'll probably be Saturday till I use it anyway, so no worries!

Oh yes, and I was cooking lunch this afternoon cos I was so hungry and I didn't have time to hop over to civilisation to buy nor pay exorbitant delivery charges for fast food.
So! I cooked up a storm. Okay, not literally. Nonetheless, I decided to post my not-very-secret recipe on this blog since I took pictures while the water was boiling (and at the same time to scare you so no one will ask me to cook for them!) hahaha
Haha, don't laugh too hard. Putting my home econs skills to whatever use there is.
First, you need noodles! Myojo, Maggi whatever. Personally I like Cintan, but I don't have a lot of choices at home.
Shrimp tanmen says it all. Haha

Then I opened the refrigerator... looking for carrots.
No carrots!
Looking for egg...
No egg!
But we have egg tofu! Fine by me.
Haven't actually gone to the extreme of adding tofu to instant mee, but a hungry man will do anything.
Egg tofu, it is!

Digs somemore, adamant to find my carrots but got this instead.
Will make do with Xiao Bai Chye then.

Next step, throw in everything into the boiling pot of water and let it miraculously turn into a meal.
(Note that the tofu and veg were washed thoroughly before throwing into the water,I can't cook like Martin Yan but I am clean freak when it comes to the things I put into my mouth)
Ahh, the wonders of gas and water!
Finally, ready to be served!
O...kay, I know it looks least appetising, especially if you're munching on your double cheeseburger and reading my blog too, but hey, this is considered very good coming from Gina already.
'Sides the noodle was really good. And if I say it's good, it's good! :) (Cos only I ate it) Hahah

Don't worry, I'm not going to set up a restaurant anytime soon. Hahahahah
More mugging for tomorrow!
Saturday. All in a day
Sunday, April 20 11:17 PM
Yesterday unlike most Saturdays started really early and ended kinda late. Had lessons at 9am, so woke up at a ungodly hour of 6.30am. Thankfully I was on exam leave on Friday, or chances I would have skipped the morning class yesterday. Reached school slightly late, but there were people later so Joyce started like 9.20am.Janelle was better. She thought lesssons started at 10am. HahahaLessons ended close to twelve, made my way to Tanjong Pagar control station. We were all going to Kharina's house warming at Cantonment so made arrangements to meet Yuh Tze at the control station. I suck at directions, much more those in Tanjong Pagar. Yuh Tze is a great guide! Haha, she brought me through the short cuts and short passes.Apparently she knows the area well having worked in MOH earlier. By the time we got there, it was already close to 1pm. The rest were already there! It was kinda fun seeing everyone outside work, on a Saturday in their t-shirts and slacks, just hanging around with their kids, grandkids and babies. Nicole was damn funny playing with Ian. I think the poor boy must be horrified of her by now, but Nic is really quite a joy to be around. She reminds me of a cousin, I just can't put a finger to who exactly. Anyway, lunch was buffet-style. Western. Spaghetti, cheese sausages, cold cuts, beef steaks, chicken pieces. Nice. I didn't eat much though, had late breakfast in class.Nonetheless Kharina and Simon were great hosts as we almost turned their new nest upside down. HahaAs it drew closer to 4pm, people started leaving. I left with Nicole among the last batch. Since dear weren't here to pick me yet, I thought I'll meet him direct at Vivo instead. Took the MRT and then LRT.Finally got to Vivo! Wow, now that he sends me around everywhere, taking the public transport does feel a little confusing these days.I had to find the exit that points to Vivocity at the MRT station, that is how bad it was. HahaI think I looked like a tourist. Thank god nobody ushered me towards Sentosa exit. :)Shopped alone for like 10mins and Bluey arrived. We gave the name Bluey to his March, cos it was blue (duh). Okay. Point noted, lousy excuse.Let's move on.After I unloaded my stash into his car, humongous bag, IM notes and files, we made our way to get our Saturday Matinee tickets.BUT horror of horror! All tickets were sold out until 11.30pm! And that time, it was only 4.30pm for crying out loud!Since it was the movie, or no movie. We had to relocate. E-hub here we come! E-hub is the newly branded cinema and entertainment hub at Downtown East and it officially opened yesterday. Our initial plans were to go there to meet Corey and Nicholas but we decided to head to Vivo instead cos the boys were not joining us afterall. However, like fate would have it, we're back at where we had wanted to go in the first place.Yay, got our tickets and met newly weds, Cedric and Angela along the way. How coincidental!Proceeded for dinner @ Sakura Buffet! I love it, so does Boyfriend! I adore adore the fried rice. Stupid I know, but I stuff myself silly with the rice there each time. It's very party-fried rice which absolutely tantalises my tastebuds.Normal fried rice that you get at Zi Char stalls are like Yang Chou fried rice, so it's a bit different. The rice at Sakura somehow makes me happy! Haha. Strange but true.Yes, it's buffet but each time Dear and I go to Sakura, it's always grab and go. We think 24 bucks is pretty cheap so no need to stuff ourself silly. 'Sides, it's so near! We came and left in about an hour. That's after dessert, of course. Yumm!Anyways, we caught The Forbidden Kingdom. Hmmm, with all the hype and publicity, I expected more from the film, moreover it's Jet and Jackie in the same movie when seldom do we see the 2 Js in a sentence. The movie was oooo.kay, it delivered what it promised., storyline and all. I just expected a little more bang to it. After the flick ended, we drove to Pasir Ris to meet up with Nicholas. He met with some sticky encounters recently, which he obviously did not find funny. Nonetheless when he told me about it, I couldn't stop laughing. HahahaWhen a person is down on his luck, shit happens. I shan't mention his predicament on this entry, since I don't wanna bore you further than what I have already been doing. HahahaStill, all the best to him! I wanna have updates on his drama soon ya. We joked that the calibre of his misfortune is good enough to be screened on mediacorp primetime slot. hahaha, screw that. Maybe even TVB. HahaFinally, my tired body saw the familiar setting of my home again close to midnight. If your maths didn't fail you, you would have realised that I've been awake for close to 18 hours? That is 1 whole day for you. Almost slept on the toilet bowl, I swear. Okay, that being said. Sunday was spent mugging and so will it be till Thursday. I can't wait till next Saturday cos all my papers would be over by then! Nights world. It's time to sleep again.YAWN.
Hair, Rebonded.
Friday, April 18 2:46 PM
I finally rebonded my hair! After a year of curly wurlies, my tresses are now poker straight.. haha, but I don't think I need too long to get used to it. It's still long though, Andrew refused to snip off too much cos my hair is quite heavily layered. I can't wash my hair for 2 days, but screw it. I didn't adhere to this when I permed my hair either. HahaOh yes, and he reminded me, no tying and no hairbands. Haha (cos I walked into Kimage with a hairband and a stack of my International Management notes)
Okay, back to studying. Exams in 4 days! Holy moly!
River City @ Excelsior Hotel
Tuesday, April 15 8:10 PM
We went to River City at Excelsior Hotel for Alvin's makeup birthday dinner. My baby brother turned 18 on 25th March, but with classes, work, school, and many conflicting schedules, we finally met up yesterday for a good ol' family dinner at Excelsior Hotel. Just some pictures, cos I'm too busy to blog a full entry.
Food, glorious, food.
Mummy and I
Daddy and Mummy tucking in
and says cheeze for my dear camera!
Birthday boy! All 18 years of it.
Do we look alike?
Al, Jack and Dad
Altogether now... 1, 2, 3. B-U-R-P!
Sunday Night
Sunday, April 13 9:32 PM
It's Sunday night, all too soon. Bet everyone's lazing around, hoping time just stops at 7pm. It's back to work tomorrow, the hussle and the bussle. Life gets on, just like that. Suddenly, we work around the clock, and not with it. If you get what I mean, you get what I mean. I'm just complaining that time moves too fast, so much we do not stop as often as we want to, for rose-smelling or anything of that sort.At the end of an interval like Fridays, we heave a sigh of relief. Only to find out that, hey! it's Sunday again. What most people want to know is - where is the finish line? We're in some sort of a cruel rat race here. We don't see the cheese, we just keep on going.
What if there's no cheese? But again, we wouldn't want to let others get all the cheese, if there were really cheese at the end.
Hmmmm... food for thought. Anyway, I'm getting so concerned (no, I'm not turning abstract) is because my exams are drawing near!!It's crazy! It's just next next week and I'm really not at all prepared. This coming week is gonna be a short week for me, cos I'm going to go on my exam leave from this Wednesday till next Friday. Do not envy me, cos I really wonder how I am gonna cramp all the syllabus in on time. I just visited to Mel's blog and (Hey! you went to the Fish Spa too!) and it also got me thinking how much i have grown since stepping into the working world for a good 2 years now. Have I gotten what I wanted to achieve 2 years back? Is this the correct path that will lead me to where I want to be in 10 years' time?Maybe, 2 years is a bit too short to decide. Nonetheless, it's looking pretty rosy for me so far. Then, I wanted to get hitched by 23. But time flies, and whoosh! I'm already 22. What an ass. I also wanted to have my first kid by 25, but this means that I would need to go into mating season within the next 2 years. Okay, I so need to revise these milestones. Well at least, there's one thing I'm looking forward to in the immediate future. My graduation in September! Hooray! This entry is extremely random, which is probably the state of my mind right now. I'm just waiting for the clock to strike 10, so I can sleep. :) If my fairy godmother came around and ask me for 3 wishes. I would wish for: - My own car by the age of 24
- My own house before I turn 25 (Okay, I still do want to get married. Maybe by 25 this time?)
- To love what I do, and to do what I love.
What? I'm just preparing in case she comes around. :)
Have a good week ahead, everyone. It's finally 10pm.
Fishy, fishy
2:33 AM
Haha, even blogging about it makes me feel ticklish at my soles. Dear and I went to the Kenko Fish Spa today. Made an appointment for 5pm and headed down promptly for the good ol' spa. In fact, we were early, reached at 4.30pm.We went to the Kenko outlet at Singapore Flyer cos the last time we went there for the ride, we saw the Fish Spa going on and swore to return for it soon.Soon is today! :)The moment we got there, they ushered us in.. made us keep our belongings in lockers and change into their slippers. After that, we proceeded to wash our feet. Scrub, scrub! Haha. I reckon that is extremely important especially if you're gonna be soaking your feet for 30 mins. Okay, for those who don't know. This is how the Fish Spa looks like. There were 3 huge tanks like this inside Kenko. Each can fit about 6 - 8 people comfortably. And of cos, they were filled with fishes!! .jpg)
As you would know by now. These fishes are not for fishing, or for watching.
The fish spa lets us soak our legs into it, and these fishes will eat the dead skin cells off your feet to reveal newer, softer skin.
Sounds like a god-send ya? Hahaha. It was hell itchy!!!
That's my (humongous) legs and Dear's.
.jpg)
The moment you dip your feet into the pool, the hoardes of fishes are drawn to you.
.jpg)
My boyfriend was trying to keep a poker straight face, but it tickled too badly.
More and more fishes approach my feet.
And moreeeeeeeee... feels like tiny electric bolts on your legs.
Most ticklish for me is when they bite at my toes.
.jpg)
Now everyone knows where my dead skin cells are concentrated! Haha
.jpg)
Boyfriend pities the job these fishes have. Hahaa.
We spotted a few dead ones. Must have been too much dead skin to handle.
.jpg)
Warning: A series of photo-whoring ahead. .jpg)

The fish spa was for 30 mins. We got up soon after that and proceeded with the 2nd part of our package.
Head and shoulder massage! I know, we sound like we're living the life. We just think this is long overdue. We need massages badly! :)
The lady who worked on me, massaged me like I was a piece of beef she was marinating. Either that, or she mistook me for the woman that killed her pet rabbit.
Boy, did she exert all her strength. And she is no tiny lady. She is built. OUCH.
She told me my shoulders were very tight and asked if I were tired. I nodded.
Bad move, she seemed determined to dislocate my shoulder.
But at the end of it, the massage actually felt quite good. :)
Dear complaint about her strength too, so I guess it's not just me. It was a good experience nonetheless, we both had tonnes of fun at Kenko!
Headed for dinner at the first level of Singapore Flyer. Still guessing? Here's a clue. Chicken and Biscuit.
Yup, we had Popeyes! Nice! I can never get sick of their cajun mashed potato.
Walked back to Marina for our movie.
Sex is Zero 2 - this korean drama is DAMN HILARIOUS, I'm telling you. It's R-21 though, so do be prepared for some explicit scenes.
It is nonetheless one of the few non-english movie that I laughed from start to end. Koreans are a crazy lot. Hahaha
Do catch that if you're a fan of Korean flicks, or just in for a good time. This movie is bound to satisfy that.
Oh, did I mention I saw Olinda Cho at ECP? She looks 1/4 of her original size. Not sure if she really did slim down that much, or if it's true that TV adds 10 pounds?
But she really does look like she dropped 6 chickens from her pants. Whoever she is endorsing for weight loss is working damn fine!
I should sign up too! Oh yes, met my cousin, Wan Ting at ECP too. It's an incredulously late hour for her to be at ECP Mac.
It was around midnight. Kids these days don't seem to need sleep that badly as us.
Must be the effects of ageing. Haha
Anyways, it's 3am. Time for bed. Time for dreams.
Sweet dreams, y'all.
