Starry Starry Night

Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
======
Sometimes I wish I had a crystal ball, so that I can look into and know what's gonna happen or not happen in the future.

Shopping with Analyn today was fun! We went Central straight after work and I got myself a dress, 2 tops, 1 teeshirt and a lil box of macaroons.
The macaroons are realllllly sweet, even for someone like me who has a sweet tooth. I suppose, it's an acquired taste?
I don't know, except that it costs a lot, and so I would think it's supposed to be good! Heh

Ally's celebrated her birthday yesterday.
Although this is late, it's not very late in Germany's time (haha), Happy Birthday Ally!
Looking forward till you return in September! :)
Diana will celebrate her birthday tomorrow.
Supposed to meet up with her, but we've changed it to next Tuesday instead.
Nonetheless, Happy Birthday Diana! Have a fantabulous time ya! =)

Oh yes, I want a BFF (best friend forever) and this time, I think it would be fun to find a male best friend!
I used to joke about having a gay best friend cos I think they are always the nicest to people, and it'd be fun to y'know, talk about hair and makeup with a guy.
Now, taking a leaf from Heart of Greed, I also want a male best friend. Interested parties, please apply within. :)
=======
Oh yes, Heart of Greed ended its run. All 40 episodes.
It was an alright ending, I guess.
But if I had my way, the 2nd mum should never be accepted back into the family.
She's sooo evil, I can't even stand watching her.
=======
Okay, sleepy already. Good night people.

July Getaway

I'm Back! (Okay, that was fast, considering I was only packing on Thursday)
Anyhoos, I enjoyed myself thoroughly yesterday and today! I shall briefly run through my itinerary which was much well-planned by my boyfriend. =)
Met him at 1.30pm yesterday while we drove to do some banking errands round the area. Checked in, grabbed my little bag and made our way down to the bus stop. He told me, we were going town by bus.
I didn't believe. Hah, and for that, I followed him till we came to a bus stop. We were reallly going town, by bus. 14 came and we hopped on. Somehow, I felt like a tourist, in a good way of course! =)The journey was reaaaaaaally fast! I wished I stayed at Marine Parade, going town next time would be sucha breeze.
Alighted at town and headed to Cineleisure to catch Prom Night (cos we were keeping Dark Knight for Saturday).2 words. Don't watch.
After the movie, we did some random shopping along Orchard Road (I don't know why, but I felt like a tourist even more so now! Haha). I ended up with 2 sets of pretty lingerie, a new handphone pouch and some hairbands! So happy!
Ended shopping with a ride home on Bus 14. Ride was really quick. I really really wanna live in Marine Parade next time. Hahaha.. Headed for dinner at this nice little cafe restaurant which we have passed by so many times last time but never once went in.
Ordered chicken teriyaki linguine while he took his lion head fusilli. Meal comes complete with soup for starters, fizzy orange, main course and cheesecake desert... It's damn worth it, I say. Food was great too!
Retreated back to our mini chalet for the night and caught tv till we snoozed off.
Woke up this morning to a greaaaaaat breakfast! I totally dig their fish porridge and omelette! =) Left shortly for THE DARK KNIGHT at Great World City. Yayness, managed to get tickets finally!
Okay, perhaps this picture is not a good representation of the movie.
Yup, this is much better.

Happened to chanced upon this picture online. It's like the evolution of Batman.
Funny!
As you may have already heard so many many many reviews on Heath Ledger's great piece of work as The Joker before you know, he died, I shan't repeat.
BUT I have to emphasize that he did a very good portrayal of the role indeed. Think Heath Ledger added the element of horror in this movie, and you know it has to be damn good when he looks more like the lead actor instead of Batman (Christian Bale) himself.
The Dark Knight is a dark movie, very sinister and evil in my opinion. Close to 2.5 hours, but I say go catch it!
There is a good possibility that he may be the first actor to receive a posthumous Oscar.

Dinner was at Mariner's Corner Restaurant and Bar. Ooh, I miss the place so much! I should bring you guys there one day. It's at the Singapore Mariner's Club, off Cantonment Road. You guys will love it! =)
So now, I'm back home and I'm really shagged. It always is the case after a short weekend getaway, but nonetheless thanks d.e.a.r!
Gonna catch my 40 winks now. This must be the earliest that I have ever slept on a Saturday. Usually, I'm only halfway through my movie. Haha
Will wake up to Sunday in 12 hours.
Nights all! =)
Night Out
Thursday, July 24 11:19 PM
Yay, tomorrow's gonna be FUN, FUN, FUN, followed by Saturday's usual weekend out.
(This time I will catch The Dark Knight, by hook or by crook! Haha)
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some packing to do.
Catch you guys soon! =)

The day started with McDonald's Breakfast!! Dear picked me up and we went Kallang's Mac for some soul food. Finally had the McGriddles after so long, and despite all the bad reviews I heard about it. I actually LIKE it! Yes, I love maple syrup, probably that's why. For those who have no idea what I am ranting about for the last 1 minute, the McGriddle is a new McD's breakfast. It's exactly the same as a sausage mcmuffin with egg (my favourite!) except the bread for McGriddles is filled with maple syrup instead of your normal (rye?) bread.Feeling hungry, already?Boyfriend's not a fan, he says the next time he'll order it is when he eats with me again. HahahaAnyway, he is out of town till Wednesday. While he is busy shopping for some of my gifts in Thailand, I shall be keep myself really busy. In fact, I am really busy.Haha, sent the first draft of my KOL report, but Steven (my group member) said I had to slim it down drastically. I know, applies to my body too. HahahaI gave up, 2 minutes ago, it's so tough. It's like my bare minimum, how to slim somemore? Ahh..But whatever it takes, I'll cut it down by 1000 words, promise. Anyway, met Jasmine online earlier. Jasmine (Koh), my cousin. Haha, too many Jasmines. Soh, Sng, Koh. She was telling me about the preps for her wedding dinner. Yup, she's the one who's getting married in September! Yay, I can't wait cos it sounds like a lot of fun. Ally and Jaivyn's coming back! Feeling quite excited for her already. Heee =) Love weddings!Hmmm, I have nothing more to blog, but I don't quite want to stop, cos my draft is staring at me and I have nothing more to trim from it. I have to do it soon, I guess. It's already 11.30pm. Nights all. Oh ya! I read the Sunday Times yesterday and found myself laughing super duper loud. You know how, increasingly people are naming themselves after funny stuff. Yesterday, ST ran an article on some of the weirdest names around. There were Pepper, Woody, Sandy (these 3 are siblings!). There's also Twelve, Diva and Florenced. (yup, past tense, haha)But the one that got me was... PURPINK. He named himself that because it combines his 2 favourite colours. HahahaDoesn't take a rocket scientist to figure which 2! LOL. And he mentioned, he did consider BlueBlack, but it won't exactly work here.I was sooooo amused! HahahahahahhaOkay, really gone this time. Ciao!

Boo Hoo!! We couldn't get tickets to The Dark Knight!
Do you know what a freaking sell-out the movie was, across the island??
We went to TM early today cos Boyfriend had to drop off his phone at the Nokia care centre (tsk tsk), and so we proceeded to GV Tampines to purchase tickets for GV Plaza.
This was at 2pm.
They had NO MORE seats for the 9.15pm show at GV Plaza. Okay, so we asked her for GV Vivo, GV Grand.
No Seats!
Ahhhh.. So in desperation, we decided to head down to Cathay Cine to try our luck.
I had to watch it, it's the IT movie this weekend.
When we finally reached town, it was also completely sold out, except for like first 2 rows. And we ain't gonna break our necks for Christian Bale.
So we decided we'll wait till next week to catch it. While scanning the movies screening this weekend, nothing looks potentially good.
Red Cliff....? Already caught..
Hell Boy 2...? Hell No!
Then we saw. Wedding Daze, starring Isla Fisher and Jason Biggs.
Oh well, it's a rom-com. My favourite! Rom Coms are always good.=)
Plus, they have good (couple) seats! Spacious! In fact, those seats were the last ones.
Whee. We took it, immediately. Hahaha
The movie was good, I give it at least 3 popcorns. The ending is a little crappy, but the jokes in between really got me laughing throughout. Hahaha
Not a bad choice afterall. =)
Isla Fisher's reallly pretty by the way (I can't believe she is married to Borat!) and OMG! (I just wikipedia-ed), she is gonna be cast as Rebecca Bloomwood in the Confessions of a Shopaholic series MOVIE!
YAYYYY! When? when? when?? (can't wait!)
Shortly after, we did some shopping! Both of us got a new springfield top each, very pretty! And headed to Ken's Place for dinner. We're totally addicted to his ramen. SLURP!
(Ken's Place is this authentic Jap restaurant off town, it's not some friend who randomly cooks ramen for us! haha)
Dessert came shortly after dinner at Espirit Cafe, Centrepoint.
Some photos of us while at Espirit's.
The streets and the throngs of crowd beloe, taken from the cafe.

Cad Dream
Saturday, July 19 1:05 PM
Just remembered I bought this bar of Cadbury Dream from Candy Empire last Sunday. It's still untouched!Time to indulge in some calories now... On normal days, I wouldn't have paid 3 bucks for a bar so small, but only because this Cad Dream comes with little colourful chocolate rice! LOOK!
It's so pretty, I had to get it!

Breaking it up into cubes...

Ready to pop one into my mouth!
Verdict? It IS good!! I've like taken 3 more cubes since I typed the last sentence! The sprinkles just fizzes at your mouth at the end of it.
Yuuuummmmmyy. :)
Remember the Kate Spade I got when I was in Hong Kong?
I brought it out for the first time yesterday! The worst thing is I had to cram in the train which was so packed.
Anyway, Shereen just returned from Hong Kong too, and from the sms-es, I'm pretty sure she enjoyed herself! No typhoon though, but it was wet, I heard. Let me know once you've decided on the gathering k?
Hmmmmm, I'm this <--> close to finishing my SM assignment, and I'm gonna bathe and hit the town in an hour.
Ciao bellas!
Friday, July 18 11:03 PM
Yo ho, yo ho.
It's Friday all too soon. This weekend, Dark Knight rules the cinemas. I haven't caught mine but about 200% likelihood that I will catch it tomorrow evening unless tickets are that salable.
I hope not.
Other than Dark Knight, project work will also rule my weekend. Haha. Yes, I have tonnes of deadlines. Hmm, about 3, but all heavy-weight sort.
There's KOL and SM. In addition, KOL pres is next Thursday so I need to double up and prepare on the presentation question.
Exams in less than a month, scary!
Okay, it's now 11.48pm. While most people stay up late on Friday night, my eyelids are desperately pleading with me to let them off for the night.
Okay, I say. It's time for bed!
... and wake up no earlier than 1pm tomorrow.
YES! That's what the weekend is all about. =)

Red Cliff
Sunday, July 13 1:42 AM
Today, Robin and I went to catch Red Cliff with Nick and Corey. On typical days, this was not my to-die-for movie, but somehow the thrillers made me interested, even somewhat excited. I'm definitely not a 3 Kingdoms fan, but trust me, perhaps after this, I may just grab a book on it and read 'bout it (but of course not those chinese novels where words come in the form of vertical scripts). I can't exactly believe how 3 Kingdoms is part of Chinese history, and everything as depicted has happened before! The movie comes in 2 parts, Red Cliff and The Battle of Red Cliff. I understand that in US, they launched both parts of the movie consecutively, so that the viewers there don't die of anticipation after they finish the first part.Well, I am dying. Because in Singapore, I understand they are not screening the 2nd part till December. What the! The worst part was that the movie was DAMN nice! (Ironic, I know) And it had to end just at the point of the climax, can you even imagine?? Argggh! When I saw the words - To Be Continued flashed across the screen, I thought it was a joke, like on Simpson's Movie. It wasn't a joke. =( The lights came on shortly after!Anyway, just some roles from the story... (I may sound super cheena for the next 20 lines)Xiao qiao (played by Chiling Lin), wife of Zhou Yu (Tony Leung), love interest of Cao Cao.
Zhuge Liang (played by Takeshi Kaneshiro), chancellor of Shu Han.
He is utterly delicious looking!
And here, we have Zhou Yu (played by Tony Leung), military strategist of Dong Wu.
I understand how little women can resist his charm, because I simply can't!
Tony, don't marry Carina. Marry me! Hahaha

Sigh, can I hurry have the 2nd part soon?? The suspense is killing!
Anyway, Dad is in Melbourne now, probably the first stopover. He called to say it's super cold over there, like 4 degrees.
I'm so envious cos I'll gladly take the cold for the Hilton hotel, streets with plenty of nougats, chocolates, candies and loads of shopping, I want to be there!
Hahaha
Oh yah, part of today's agenda was also to visit the Honda show room at Ubi.
Took a look (okay, many looks) at the new Honda Jazz. I like the misty violet! It's now going for 62k until the next bidding.
We also dropped by Hyundai to check out the new Hyundai i30. I love the sun roof! So upmarket!
Dear, if we really do get the Jazz, let's take misty violet k? =) Otherwise, you can choose black. I'll drive the March. teehee.
Oh yes, some pictures of me and my new Coach. It's totally awesome, size and all.

I'm off to bed now, my Heart of Greed marathon starts at 12 noon tomorrow.
Nights!

Went to Vivo for this weekend.
If you do still recall, I won a Tagger bag on the Dan&Young morning show a while back, we finally went down to collect.
For someone who has never won anything from Mediacorp, I didn't know the process was in fact kinda l o n g.
For me, my idea of prize collection was go down to Mediacorp as indicated on the letter and they just hand you a bag.
But that's not the case.
Fact is, after you receive a letter from Mediacorp and you bring that letter down to Mediacorp, they pass you another letter for Tagger, which is like a voucher.
Only then, you head down to the Tagger Bag store and redeem your bag.
Think it ends there?
Nope, you don't just get a bag.
Because this Tagger Bag is a build-it-yourself-bag, so I was told to choose the size of the bag, the colour of the bag, the colour of the flap and lastly, the colour of the straps.
There were SOOOO MANY colours and designs to choose from. I was spoilt for choice! Haha Thank god, dear helped me through.
First, the size of the bag.
There's CREW and FLOW. Took FLOW, think that's the name for the small one.
Next, the colour.
Wanted pink cos it was so pretty, but pink was sold out for FLOW, so I thought white was good too. Took white.
Next up, flaps! Very important since most people are probably just gonna notice the flap. Who really cares about the bag or the straps? Haha
Dear spotted this and thought I would like it. I did! Flowery and cute! Very crayolla!
Straps were the last part, but the easiest.
It definitely had to be black so that it doesn't clash with the flaps or the bag itself.
Plus, if I got a new flap, black straps will definitely be easy to match.
After they tallied the amount, it came to bout 110 i think. As my gift voucher was worth $150, I got to pick another flap. Yayyy!
I chose this for the 2nd flap! So.... knitty.
After all choices have been made, all you have to do is to piece them together and VOILA!
You get your very own bag!
The side profile
How the back looks like.
I build this in a hurry for the camera so it may look a little crooked. Haha
And more importantly, how it looks on me! Haha

Okay, back to my weekend.
The moment we reached Vivo, dear suggested heading in to Sentosa!
The weather was fantastic, the rain just ended and it was close to 5.30pm. Great for a stroll, an ice cream and some sunset view. =)
We took the tram ride and headed in.
Island Life!

Dear, overseeing the ports of Singapore.
Images of Singapore and some tourists inset.
The Tiger Tower, or something. (I swear the last time I was here, it was called the Carlsberg Tower!)
Anyway, don't be fooled by the emptiness, I snapped it when the people had just left.
Sentosa was anything, but empty. Haha
Of course, I wasn't gonna leave without going on the Skyride!
The last time we came here, we didn't get ride it due to the weather, but today the skies' perfect and we did!
We went up really quickly! Cos the skyride doesn't stop, you basically just stand there (back facing it) and it scooooooops you up into mid air!
Up, up and awayyyyyyyyy!
This was taken when we were escalating up.
So exciting! Hahahaa (esp when you've got a fear of heights, like me)
I got other more silly photos of us, where we look.. silly, cos we were so afraid.
Hahah, I'll keep those snaps for my own laughter and leisure.
Once you reached the highest point, it's actually less scary and the scenary was fantabulous!
Feeling the wind in your face was great!
Overseeing the harbour, again.
Starting to descend.
And down...
Same when you land, it doesn't stop so you gotta HOP off fast enough so that you don't get knocked by the moving ride or get scooped in for another ride. Hahaha
We hopped out of the seat in a funny fashion. Laughed a lot after! Hahaha
The $6 bucks, 10 minutes ride was awesome, but we had to do what we came in for.
Beach stroll and sunset view!
Isn't it prettyyy? I think I make an okay photographer. Haha
Families playing by the beach.
LOTS of families...
At this point of blogging, I suddenly thought of the time when I was in Sentosa with Ally and Jean for SPH's Family Day.

Gosh, that was like exactly 2 years ago in 2006! Feels like only last year? (although I have put on lot of weight since then)
Don't you girls miss those times? I def miss you both! :)
Jean - remember the stomachache shot?? Haha
A shot by the beach after our Cornetto Royale.
The ice cream tastes especially good! (maybe cos it's $3, that's why!haha)
Walked further down and saw Sentosa Beach Resort.
We stayed here recently in Jan. Makes me wanna go back again.
And the famous Cafe Del Mar opposite.

It was close to 7 plus by then, and our stomachs were growling and so we decided to head back for some chow. :)

While waiting for the tram to return to Vivocity!

Headed back and had Carl's for dinner.
Caught The Bank Job. Great plot, great cast, great movie. Best of all, NOT screened on cable concurrently!
Okay, it's officially 3 hours into Sunday. Already 3am now.
Week ahead looks good. Shopping with dear Clara on Mon, more shopping with Analyn on Tues, classes on Wed and Thurs, Dear on Fri.
And guess what? It's Saturday again!
Island Life, Love it!
