I'm totally flabbergasted.

It started out with a Taka bag...

In this, I found this bag from Lacoste!

In Raspberry colour!

I opened the bag to pull out this! Ralph Lauren! =) =)

The Ralph Lauren box didn't only contain a shirt, something else was hidden within it as well...

Agnes B charm bracelet!! (screams!)

All these make me feel so loved!

So I decided to try on the RL shirt..

I love him to BITS!

Anyway, I caught Forgetting Sarah Marshall today.

The movie is centered on getting over being dumped. So you can expect the usual rebound- finds new girlfriend-old girlfriend realises her mistake- end up, boy is confused on who to choose.

I'll leave the ending for you to find out.

It's also M18 for a reason, lots of sexual connotations. Also, the big laughs and major funny parts only come in at the 2nd half of the movie, so you gotta be patient.

All in all, I'd give it a 2 popcorns. But because, I suggested to watch this yesterday, I'm being a little generous here and probably give it 2.5.

Hahaha! Catch it if it wills your fancy.

I'm home considerably early for a Friday. Stayed back an hour plus to settle some outstanding issues, since I'm on leave on Monday! (hip, hip, hooray!)

On my way home in the lift, I can't help but notice..

The lift doesn't serve 5th and 10th storey. Isn't it so strange??

Actually, Mum pointed this out a week back, but I hadn't really stopped and looked, but now that I stopped and looked, I had to snap too. Just so you guys know what I'm talking about.

My block has people living on every level, wonder why they purposely left the 2 storeys out. Orhh, maybe cos they never opt for the LUP (lift upgrading programme). Hahaha!

Oh yah, when I was buying ice cream on my way home just now. It's not your 7-11 or McDonald ice cream, it's those sold by old man on a motorbike. I especially like those kind!

And also not those Magnolia-block kind with two waffle biscuits, but those scoop ones where you have nice flavours in a cup.

As I approached the ice cream man, I decided to make a call to mum after collecting my contact lens, asked if she wanted ice cream too. She didn't, so I went ahead and got mine.

*For the convenience of some who can't read my crap hanyu pinyin, I have added some loosely translated english translations.

Me: Uncle, wo yao scoop de. Fang zai cup. (Uncle, I want ice-cream, scoop kind. In a cup, please)
Uncle: Oh, scoop de. Okay. Looks at a man with his baby on a stroller nearby and repeats in a kiddish tone while looking at the baby "Scoop de!" (self-explanatory)
Me: -puzzled but not bothered-
Uncle: Ni de hai zi ah? (Your child?)
Me: Hahahahahahaha, bu shi la... (No laaaaa)
Uncle: Ohhh, xian zai hen duo nian qing ren hen zao shen hai zi. (Youngsters these days have kids very young)
Me: -turns and looks at the man with the baby, really look very young, like my age-

NO WONDER LA, the uncle thought the ice cream I ordered was for my supposed baby! While some may be offended at such comments, I found it a compliment. :)
(I know la, either I'm just weird or it's plain denial)

Oh yah, another funny conversation that took place in the car yesterday:

Boyfriend: What movie are we watching tomorrow?
Me: Finding Sarah Mitchell! Can't wait, looks very nice!!
Boyfriend: Finding..... Sarah? Mitchell??
Me: Uh huh... opens in cinemas today!
Boyfriend: -hides a giggle- Forgetting Sarah Marshall laaaaaaaa, dearrrr!
Me: Oh yah! HAHAHAHAHAHH!

Anyway, I shall end the entry with 4 letters. No la, doesn't start with a F - it ends with it.

p/s Angie - I managed to get the gift! :) But not from Prada though. I'm gonna spend the next 2 hours thinking of how to wrap it. Thanks for the suggestions, btw! And, I'm still sore that I bought Body Shop products 1 day before it had their 'crazy sale' in Angie's own words.

Cyborg She

I caught Cyborg-she yesterday. Looking at the movie poster and you will go: "YOU??"

Haha, I know la, it's not a very me-kinda movie, but the timing was right, and you will be surprised that it's actually very nice!

If I could secondguess the director, I think it was meant to be a touching, heartwarming movie.

And IT IS!

Just that the part of the movie that charmed me was okay, the cyborg and more importantly, the funny spills and laughters he put into the movie.

A lot of humour within, so you guys gotta go catch it. 4 Popcorns!
Even if it's not for the movie, go for the cyborg! Goodness, she is unhumanly gorgeous!

But sad truth be told, she is human.

Life sucks.

Oh, on a totally unrelated note, I love her hair. Maybe I will consider getting a cyborg-do. Haha. Okay, sorry for scaring you.

Yup, it's finally mid-week. Went shopping for present and I bumped into Diana and Jia Ling in town! -waves-
Actually, we didn't really bump.

She yelled at me when I was walking outta Taka basement. I thought I heard someone yelling, but when I looked around, I was so surprised that she was the one calling and I was the one being called. Haha

Anyways, (I sidetracked again) I was in town to get a gift. I walked all over but couldn't really decide. Thank god, for Angie (who is online msn-ing with me now) that gave me some new ideas! I shall look around tomorrow during lunch! Thanks girl! :)

I have 2 more days to secure the entire gift. I managed to get 1/3 of it today, plus the box and card. =)

Oh yah, my kickboxing class begins tomorrow! Yayness. I must remember to bring my stuff and towel along (cos Analyn say cannot wear the gym shorts I have at work, due to the kicking mo')

Fallen Trees

After what happened yesterday and today, I think trees are evil.

Yes, you heard me right. I said, EVIL.

Yesterday we went out for dinner. On our way back, we had to drive through this small lane which links us from Holy Trin to home. It was raining slightly and skies were dark, we were chatting and SUDDENLY!

Boyfriend jammed brake!

I was wondering what had happened. The road up ahead was no longer passable. A tree had snapped into two and is lying across the road. It was totally inaccessible. So dear attempted to reverse before some other cars came from behind, which will make reversing a whole lot tedious.

As luck would have it, while we were reversing, cars came and formed a queue. Can't blame them though, it's the only road through to the other end and it was a Sunday evening.

So dear came out and made hand gestures for them to reverse. The rain was starting to pour and he couldn't tell them one by one.

In the end, we made a 3-point turn at the school gate and drove in the opposite direction. As we drove, he wound down the windows to explain to them what happened. Cars, delivery bikes were all stuck. Sickening right?
Some kind soul ahead helped us by picking the branches and leaves, but he couldn't manage alone, so imagine the sheer size of that road block.

That said, we had to make a long detour to get to our destination. He made a call to 999 to inform them of the fallen tree. Then, shortly, NEA called him to ask for more info.

As we drove off, we were just discussing how dangerous it would have been, if a car was travelling under the tree when it was struck by the lightning, (It was definitely struck, strong winds can't do such things) and that the tree trunk fell on the car.

And I agreed. It would have been terrible, even to think. The rainy weather these days ain't helping one bit.

This afternoon during lunch, I made my way to City Hall MRT station. Was on the way to do some banking errands when I saw a commotion and a lot of people crowding near the roadside outside St Andrew's Cathedral.

Upon closer inspection, I realised.... OH NO!

An enormous tree just broke and this time, it fell on 2 ladies.
Both ladies were injured, I think. Lying by the road, beside the fallen tree.
People were helping, but they just couldn't stand.
I didn't see blood but they were in a mess. They barely look conscious.
Hair with soil, leaves, messy. They obviously got hit on the head.

People were calling police, ambulance. And the thing is, I don't think it rained this morning, at least not until lunch.

How on earth did it happened?? If such incidents keep occuring, it's gonna be very very dangerous, especially if you realise how our country is lined with .. yes, trees.

It's gonna hurt people, and worst cases, I think it could be fatal. Imagine an entire tree trunk coming down on you. WHAM!

Wah, I sure don't want to know how that feels. Pain, is definitely an understatement.

So everyone, be careful okie?

Oh ya Jacq! The Nintendo Wii is going for $659 at Century Square, I'll check Funan tomorrow!

Nintendo Wii

I want a Nintendo Wii please. Or a Wii Fit.

But I suspect the Wii will be much more fun, unless you buy Wii and can use as both Wii Fit and Wii, then I wouldn't mind.

I played the Nintendo Wii once at Tim's house. There's golf, tennis, boxing and those lame games that make you laugh, like floor sweeping. Haha, you need to play before you understand what I'm trying to explain.

I want leh.. It suddenly dawned upon me that this could make life a lot more fun for me, we could bond as a family, I could lose weight! I want! I want!

I was initially thinking of replacing my Mp3 or getting a DS lite, but now I think getting a Wii that everyone can play, is a much worthwhile purchase. :)

Jacq - Shall we share and get one of these toys for the family?

Does anyone have one of these? How much is it retailing lately? According to GamesAxis, the bundle is retailing at $649 but this info is accurate at the time when they were anticipating the release.

I'm so gonna check at Funan when I get back to work tomorrow.

It's a wet and rainy day. I'm home with Mum.

She watching her HK DVD on the portable DVD player I bought Daddy for his birthday, while I, have done quite a bit for a Sunday morning.

Well, it started yesterday. The urge to do some spring-cleaning, packing and dusting. (Housewife-in training, haha!)

No lah, it's just that I haven't been religiously cleaning my room as often as my Mum would like to me, so I'm taking this opportunity (since there's really nothing much to do except sleep) to clean up.

I started on my wardrobe yesterday, transferred ownership (haha) of some pieces to Jacq. As much I love those apparels, I simply do not have the chance to wear them out. The rest of which, I will sell them away. If anyone's interested, I can give you the link ya!

Saturday - Sunday: Finally the days I can dress casual

And so, the mini skirts and flirty dresses are now in Jacq's HUGE cabinet. She's more likely to wear them than me, with school and training.
Sigh, it's also ironic that she gets a much bigger cabinet than me, by the mere fact she gets her own room and because I share a room with Al, she gets what Al and I have - combined. 4-door wardrobe. :(

But it's okay, I'm coping well (as you can tell), learning to store within my limits. Hahaa

It is not colour-arranged anymore, it's now apparel-arranged.

Tubes -camisoles-tanks-polo tees-working shirts-cardis-sweaters- blazers-dresses

And yes, lower rack are all bottoms.

Today, I packed my books (since exams are over!) and cleared up tonnes of magazines from my rack. CLEO, Seventeen, Hairstyles magazines, Her World, Simply Her....

If anyone wants them, just email me. Otherwise I'll give them to karang guni.

Also made a point to arrange the area of my room, where I display all the skincare products, perfumes, lotions and piggybank. Haha, very strange combination, I know.

Quite pleased with what I have done.

It is good, by MY standards. Haha

Oh yah! I caught 4bia yesterday! And I'm telling all you horror fans out there! You need to catch this!
It scores 5 out of 5 skullheads with me! It's damn scary, I tell you!

Everyone in the cineme was screaming! It definitely added to the excitement! Hahah! I enjoyed the movie soooo sooo much! Luckily, didn't listen to boyfriend when he suggested Meet Dave.

4Bia is a must-watch! So spooke yourselves out today!

12 Lotus

Went to catch 12 Lotus last night with my family. My mum (who reallly liked 881) didn't enjoy it.

Not sure if that's a good gauge of the movie's reviews island-wide. I wouldn't be able to review the movie since I don't know the getai culture and tradition. I just watch it like it were any musical.

Met Mum first and dinner was at Ding Tai Feng - the dumplings, tofu and fried rice. (Ally, am I making you hungry??) Hahah

Afterwhich, we went shopping and shopping and shopping since the flick only started at 9.40pm. We had all the way till the malls closed.

Managed to get myself 2 dresses and 3 tops. Happy! And also, because I spent so much, I qualified for the membership card.

But but but the thing is, everytime after I get this sort of member privilege card for future discounts and all after accumulating all my purchases to hit the amount spent, I usually don't go back there anymore. It's like, suddenly nothing catches my eye. Always make me feel cheated.

I guess that's only life ya? Hahaha, but still my 5 purchases will come in handy in my wardrobe revamp. :)

Alvin and Dad joined us shortly after. Went for the movie and it was already midnight when it ended.

I'm looking forward to catching 4bia today. It's some Thai horror flick, which I think looks very scary (yay!). As you can already tell (4bia=phobia, geddit?), it is a collage of 4 different horror stories. I'm also looking forward to catch The House Bunny. It's the time of the year for a Anna Faris flick! =)

Olympics closing ceremony is tomorrow. How fast is that??

Vanishing Acts

My current book is Jodie Picoult's Vanishing Acts.

And I especially like this short paragraph from one of the chapters:

Wonder if you guys caught the part where Li Shanshan fell off the beam. Ouch! Seems like the most dramatic fall in this whole season of artistic gymnastics.

Health Screening

I brought the Instax to work today, and we went trigger happy!

Here's 2 shots we took, another 2 with Analyn. I'll prob scan them in if she brings for me tomorow.

Finance and HR departments typically never gets along, wonder how we do? Haha

That's Analyn and her new permed hair (not very obvious from this shot) and me again!

Oh yah, forgot to blog that I went for the company health screening yesterday morning and it was kinda horrifying for me, given the last time someone tried to draw blood from me (from a syringe!) was how many donkey years ago.

I signed up for the basic screening cos I thought it was just to check weight, check weight, check BMI, check blood pressure, check eyesight.

But there's more. Need to draw blood too. *faints*

So as they counted down to my number (I'm 35), I got more nervous. Finally, my turn came. After confirmation of particulars, the doctor handed me 3 vials to move on to the respective stations.

3 vials? But I'm not taking urine test what. PLUS, no one stores urine in vials.

When I reached the last station, I realised all 3 vials are for a single purpose. -gulps-

I asked the nurse: "Is it gonna hurt?"
Nurse: "Yes, I'll be honest"
Me: "Shit"
Nurse: "Don't worry, I'll do it slowly for you..."
Me: "No, no, no, don't do slowly! Quick one ya?"
Nurse pierces syringe in!
I was making some stupid face to express my fear and the pain, so much so that both nurses at both stations laughed!

Haha, on hindsight, it was really quite funny and yes, she was right, it was painful. :(

Work's been so so so so so so so busy entire week, but strangely enough, I'm enjoying it!

Oh yes, I signed up for kickboxing classes! I'm so determined to drop another 4kg!

Skin Food

Okay, am transferring photos from my PC to my new lappie, so meanwhile I shall entertain you all with some of my shopping loot.

Went shopping today and bought more skin food products.

I already have a couple of SF stuff at home, but the products just kinda gets so addictive.

Analyn and I head down sometimes during lunch (Raffles City is such a godsend!) and spy their new products!

Haha, we then try whatever products that catches our eye and share with each other the reviews after. It's so girly and so fun!

Anyway for today, I bought the Black Bean eyeliner...

... Rice Concealor Tip..

...and a pack brush.

In case you're wondering what on earth is a pack brush.

A pack brush is like a flattened blush brush (wow, trying saying blush brush quickly!), and its is used together with the banana mask I bought recently too.

Yes! The banana yoghurt washoff is amazing!

It smells heavenly, I'm not exactly a fan of bananas, but this one takes the cake!

It's definitely something you wouldn't mind putting on your face, even if it does nothing.

Next, among my collection, I have the Coffee Body Scrub!

Smells nothing like coffee, instead it's like a whole tub of Cookies and Cream! You just want to eat it up while in the shower! Haha

And there's also the rose cheek choc blusher. It's a cream-to-powder formula.

I got mine in peach, so very pretty!

And their honey gloss that coats really nicely!

And lastly, the BB Cream.

I got mine in Aloe, and it smells damn nice! Same for the banana washoff, just for the smell, I'll gladly slather this on, even if it does nothing.

I'm an extremely smells-centric person, in case you can't already tell.

Just makes me very happy to be smelling nice! :)

Table Tennis Finals

Today was fun! =)

First, Jack and I went for haircut. It was totally impromptu (at least on my end). She had wanted to get a some bangs to her hair and asked if I was keen.

Seeing that I need a good trim, I ok-ed and before I knew it, I was outta the house. Hahah

As much as I'm a Kimage girl, this time we didn't. She brought me to a salon along the same stretch where Kimage is located.

She visited this place the previous time and was pleased with the results, that's why she recommended.

Okay, fast forward. I got my haircut. It's significantly shorter, I kinda like it. My previous hair was a tad too heavy, cos not layered since I rebonded in April.

My head feels lighter now! I was contemplating going shorter BUT held back that daring and adventurous instinct of mine. Can be very dangerous. Haha

We even signed on a package before we left. Quite a good package, Jacq and I shared.

We took a picture using my Instax Mini before we left house. I am still very fascinated by the idea of a instant-polaroidish cam!

Never regretted the purchase! =)

Caught the table tennis finals over dinner. Great game, nonetheless I witnessed some not very gracious acts of Singaporeans. Tsk tsk.

Shame on all of you, where is the Olympic Spirit? We didn't lose, in fact we won! A silver.

It's finally time to return to office after a 1 week exam hiatus. A part of me worried at the number of emails and meetings to attend tomorrow.

Another part of me, counting down the 13 days to Aug 31. Plus, I'm meeting Diana for dinner and shopping at FEP.

Ally's also coming back in less than a month for Jas' wedding in September. In addition, I'm turning 22 then!

Quite an eventful months coming ahead!

Night Safari!

Finally!

Examinations have come to an end, nomalcy resumes! Ahhh, the relief, the lethargy, the desire to hit the malls! Haha

Paper ended a little after 4pm, headed down to Bugis while Boyfriend gets ready to pick me up. We have an agenda today! (More on this later!)

While strolling, I found myself picking out a dress from Southhaven and decided to get it for myself as a end of exams gift! =)

And before rushing off to meet him, I grabbed a copy of CLEO.

Do you know I've been withholding the purchase for the past week cos if I bought, I definitely wouldn't put it down and God knows, how I were to manage the last minute syllabus cramp.

So by hook or by crook, CLEO was one of the must-get items today. And I managed to get it, read a little, more to be continued tomorrow.

Met Dear shortly after about 5pm, we drove to eat Ah Balling. haha, tang yuan la.
Very nice, red bean and peanut flavoured ballings in peanut soup. The thought of it alone is making me salivate again.

After which, the skies turned grey. Not a good sign cos we're going to NIGHT SAFARI!
I was a little worried and thought we may need a change of plans, but Boyfriend assured that it was gonna be a great day ahead.

We drove towards Mandai, stopped by Turf City to jalan and car-watch. How ironic to go to Turf City and not to see horses (there are no horses there anymore).

But instead, loads and loads and loads of car dealers. The moment we stepped through the multi-story carpark, we felt like a lamb thrown into the lion's den.

"Sir, looking for Honda? Hyundai? Toyotaaaaaa??"
"Sir"
"Miss"
"Miss"
"Sir..."

After a short stopover at Turf City, the skies indeed cleared (hooray!) and we decided to head straight to Mandai Lake.

Night Safari, here we come!

As silly as it sounds, this is my first time at NS. I was so excited!

Managed to park with ease, went to check out admission rates. In case it's been a long time for you too, admission tickets for adults are at $32. This is inclusive of a tram ride.

We paid up and made our way in! =)

Not much photos for this entry because camera flashes are strictly prohibited during tram rides or even on the foot path near the animals.

Nocturnal animals are extremely sensitive to light, so picture takings are a definite no-no.

As we were coming out, there was a performance by someone and this ball of fire. Apparently, he was blowing fire, like you know, out of his mouth and all.

Everyone was so impressed! I just keep feeling the heat from the ball of fire so near my face everytime he blows it up into the sky and creates the big "WOAH" from among the audience.

See, that's how he does the blowing of flame.

Taken somewhere where flash is allowed, I can't recall.

We ended the day with an ice cream shake from Ben & Jerry's! Strawberry cheesecake!
To die for!

Ok la, not really since it's only $11.90. No need to die for $11.90. Haha

Okay, during our 3 hours in there, we saw (this is gonna be a long list)...

Giraffe, Sloth Bear, Bat Eared Fox, Cape Buffalo, Hippo, Bongo, Spotted Hyena, Babirusa (internal joke with Boyfriend! haha), Anoa(sounds like a particular troubled politician), Lion, Malayan Tiger, Striped Hyena, Flamingo, Mouflon, Makhor, Bharal, Greater Asian Rhino (very close proximity!), Sambar Deer, Banteng, Golden Jackal, Water Buffalo, Axis Dear (looks like Bambi!), Marsh Birds, Himalayan Tahr, Malayan Tapir, Thamin, Giant Anteater, Capybara, Elephant (HUGE!), Bearded Pig (this was very funny), Indian Wolf, Barasingha.

Phew, that was some list. And because it was already nightfall, it was difficult to spot those creatures at first instance. You had to look long and follow the tour guide's cue and directions.

There was one occasion at the beginning of the tram ride where the guide was introducing some creature. I was so irritated cos I couldn't spot a moving thing.

And when boyfriend nudged me and asked me: "Dear, can see not?" I was like, "Yah, yah, there! there!" (don't want to look so 'blind' what)

In the end, he was like.. "Aiyo, dear.... Left" and proceeds to turn my head to the left. Hahaha.
Then I saw to my delight - moving deers and all! So happy!

The thing is that you become adapted to the darkness shortly, so you are able to see them easily gradually.

So funny! I laughed and laughed about this incident after the ride ended! This is so classic.

After Night Safari, we headed to Changi Village for dinner @ Charlie's Corner. Took Fish and Chips and some drinks.

Ahh, all that alcohol's gonna make me sleep well tonight. Not that I need it though, since I'm goddamn tired. Haha

Okay, that's all for today. Singapore's Table Tennis team is gonna pitch for medals tomorrow. What colour is the more important question. Good luck, girls.

With that, I also have my artistic gymnastics - Vault and Floor Exercise Finals tomorrow to catch! Wheee!
