Caught My Best Friend's Girl yesterday.
It's funny and the story's okay but it's not WOW! So if you had your last 8 dollars, I'd most likely advice you not to blow them on this movie. That being said, I enjoyed this better than Big Stan.
Woke up earlier than usual Sunday this morning.
Headed to Tung Lok @ Paramount for lunch with Robin's family - it's Auntie's birthday tomorrow. The ala-carte buffet was great, ate till we were all so stuffed. I liked the desserts best! Company was also fun. Good start to a Sunday.
By the time I got home, it was already 5pm. Wash-up, change and took a nap till 7pm when Al woke me up for dinner. I know, my lifestyle mirrors that of a pig.
Anyway, you guys should check out this site! (You needa register first so that they can get your address and stuff) Anyway, it's a sampling platform and it's AMAZING.
Basically, you go to the website and choose from the huge array of products which they have, ranging from Eucerin, Bioessence, Vichy Normaderm, Maybelline, L'oreal, Covermark, Dermalogica, BRTC BB Creams and Lotree BB Creams.
All these come for free! All you need to pay for is just postage which is relatively insignificant. My recent order of samples only cost $2.40. That is for about 4 (or was it 5 products)? So each of them averages about 60 cents.
The samples make good travel essentials, especially with the restriction about bringing fluids on board. I shall use them for my Oct holiday, counting down another 22 days to it. Can't wait! =)
Okay, time to iron my clothes for tomorrow (what shall I wear) and head back to sleep soon. Yes, I know I just woke up 2 hours ago, but a good sleep goes a long way!
Ciao!
edit: I did not get to sleep early in the end, was catching the tailend of the F1 grand prix. Did anyone catch that too? I have to admit, the organising committee did a pretty brilliant job with the preps for this night race. The view was amazing! Kudos!
Jasmine and Amos' wedding notice at the hotel lobby.
Alvin, Me, Jacq and Mum on Dad's Cam. Not very clear cos flash wasn't on.
More details ahead!
And a 2nd shot - which almost looks the same.
CC and Me at his specified photo-taking background.
(Backdrop cannot be any other wall, hahah)
And again, this time - full length to see the pretty clothes we're donning. =)
Haha, yup, kinda looks like.
Yup, Zhan Ming was glued to my boyfriend for almost the entire banquet. Haha, my boyfriend is quite a kids-magnet these days. Is it paternal instincts calling??
This time, half length. Still pretty!
Shereen and I!
Shereen was part of Jas' entourage this morning. One of the Jie Mei.
Another shot of Robin, Zhan Ming and I.
Us again!
My boyfriend, acting all silly after playing with the kids. Haha
Nights all! Congrats once again, Jasmine and Amos!
Jacq got me the Adidas Ayuna Fit Foam for my birthday!
Just what I wanted!

It's tempting to sing along, especially when the lyrics are provided as subtitles. I'm glad I held back. =)
The storyline is also good, for those who have not caught the Broadway Musical. Meryl Streep's pushing 60 but you can barely tell it from the way she gushes and swoons and jumps and bounces. Her 2 sidekicks are also hilariously funny.
The guys - Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard add more comic relief than eye candy which they usually do on other movies.
I just cannot reconcile the fact the Agent Bond 007 is crooning to the tunes of ABBA on the big screen but hey, he wasn't too bad. Haha
All in all, I'm giving this much anticipated movie a 4 popcorns rating. I enjoyed the whole movie, and even dear whom I convinced to watch the movie with me also left the cinema a happy boy. Not just me, the entire audience applauded when it ended. That's telling you how good it was. Next musical-movie's gonna be HSM3. Can't wait!
The trailer looks really good!
Anyway, we went Kublai Khan for Mongolian buffet dinner yesterday as the 2nd part of my birthday feast. Heh. Been feasting a lot lately and it's gonna show on my body soon. =) There's also Jas' wedding coming this Friday. Morrre feasting but happy feasting!
To me, it's another form of gathering, on a larger scale and with a cause to celebrate. Dear's joining me too, so he can go find his baby Jaivyn to play with.
Can you believe, the first thing I went into his car yesterday, he asked me: "Where's Jaivyn?"
Hahaha, but I'm glad he likes kids too, cos I adore them and I hope to have a few of my own some day. =)
So the 2nd half of the evening was spent finding a gift for Jaivyn.. The search continues today. Haha. It was quite a refreshing change to find gifts for babies, cos usually we look for presents to give friends, colleagues, family. I can't decide which is more diffiicult.
Okay, I'm out. A great week awaits ahead! =)
Hasta la Vista!
p/s. I may be going to the Russel Peters show in November afterall!!
We shared the cake and chatted bout funny stuff. I totally enjoy her company and I can't imagine how work would be, without her! =) Oh ya, also bumped into Theodore while at Canele.
So yes, afternoon came and went. Soon I was making my way down to meet the folks. We were having dinner at Downtown East Sakura. Alvin, Mum and Dad got there on time. I left office slightly late so Dear and I got to Downtown East a little later than them. Shortly after we arrived, Ally and her family reached too. Jacq also reached not long later, all the way from NTU. I'm so very touched.
Nonetheless, dinner was great! Food was fabulous, company was even better!
Jaivyn was soo sooo cute la! He totally likes Robin. Hahah, only less than 5 mins after he saw him for the first time and he is already stretching his arms out at Robin to be carried.
He was making lots of noise throughout, but I guess that's what makes the dinner fun and enjoyable! Mum and Ally were sitting on the 2 sides of him. They were busy feeding him.
I was sitting opposite him with Robin. And Robin was also busy cutting up pudding into small bite sizes for Jaivyn. Haha, very cute la, they. And did I mention, Jaivyn has an almost bottomless pit for a stomach. Haha. :)
Anyway, Robin found Jaivyn really cute and so now he knows my earlier gushing about Jaivyn is not groundless. Haha
After dinner ended, Robin and I left the group and made our way to E-hub for movies. We caught The Disaster Movie. 2 words. Don't watch, it's quite a disaster. Haha. I swear to myself everytime that I'm not gonna watch another spoof movie, but I always end up going back for more
Now, I'm saying again - I will not watch anymore spoof movies cos it's so dumb! (Let's see how long til the next one comes out. Haha)
Anyway, here are some gifts I received today. So paiseh, I shouldn't be receiving gifts anymore at a grand ol' age of 22. Thanks anyway, y'all!
Speaking of gifts, I wore the Thomas Sabo charm pendant today, it's BEAUTIFUL! Also used the Posie Tint on my lips, it gives such a nice cheeky shade! Everyone should get it!
Vouchers from AL
Lots of lots of photos we took using my Instax Mini Polaroid. Some in extremely adorable Hello Kitty frames!
Robin and I
Daddy and Mummy
Jacq and I
Ally and I
Everyone (okay, not really everyone, where's Dad?)
My folks!
One last photo of Jaivyn refusing to put down his water mug.
Last but not least, thank you everyone! Be it the gifts, cards, calls, SMSs, emails, facebook messages, phone calls, thank you for remembering all my birthday and the many well wishes from wherever you are!
I'm truly blessed to have each one and every of you in my life.
Loves.
Gina who is finally 22 now. (sounds so weird)
