And finally, I went with Jenn yesterday to Kimage to cut my hair short. She trimmed hers. Both of us quite pleased with the job.
Gonna catch He's Just Not That Into You later. My boyfriend has a problem with the title. He always gets it wrong. Haha.
Hahah, it's hilarious!
Finally found some time for my Bangkok entry!
Taken on the morning before the flight.. probably at 5am..hehe, I love early morning flights!
2 hours later, we are at Suvarnabhumi Airport. I am actually quite impressed cos the last time I was there in 2006, I landed in Don Muang Airport.
Reached our hotel around BKK time 8am plus? (BKK is an hour behind Singapore)
Feels almost like late morning for us already but people were just streaming to the restaurant within the hotel for breakfast.
As we were there earlier than the check-in time, we dropped our luggages at the hotel and took the BTS tram to Nana station to tailor make some shirts. Dear had his done there the last time and had commented on the good workmanship so we went back. It's also quite cheap. 25 per shirt.
I made 2, and they even deliver the end product all the way to your hotel so you don't have to make a second trip down to collect. Good huh?
We went back to the hotel around 11am and managed to check-in.
We stayed at Arnoma Hotel this round and I'm telling you, I can't think of a better hotel. It is right smack in Chit Lom (which is their shopping district) and opposite the hotel I have Centralworld (more on that later).
Next to the hotel, we have Big C and Platinum Mall is a mere 10 mins walk. Chatuchak is all the way at the end of the BTS (tram) line so it doesn't make a diff which hotel you stay. Hahaha.
And, their breakfast is really amazing. I was hooked! Hahaha. It is slightly pricier than other hotels, but it's definitely worth it.
Us in front of the hotel lobby!
We went for lunch and movie at Centralworld. We had Sizzler's for lunch. Very very cheap! Their salad bar is only SGD 7 bucks??
But all in all, in my boyfriend's words, still a true chick flick. =)
After the movie, we went to Swensens for dessert. Also much cheaper compared to here. An earthquake there only costs SGD 10.
This is my coit tower!
Next stop - Chatuchak! (can hear my boyfriend groan at the sound of this word).
If you haven't been there before, it's BKK's crowdest, busiest, smelliest, hotest weekend market. There are about 15,000 stalls within this weekend market.
Just take a look at the crowd of people making their way in. Sheer madness.
We spent about 2.5 hours there and made our way out (with much relief). Hahaha
Hailed a cab and went to BKK's Chinatown for dinner.
On the second day, we went Platinum Mall first thing in the morning. OMG, I love Platinum Mall, they have so many so many clothes that I like and all so cheap!
BUT the thai massage is good! I'm totally loving it. It's not too painful, not too itchy, just the right force that makes you feel very soothing.
Dear later told me that it's because the KL one uses the acupuncture method, y'know, the various points in your body leading to different organs? At the end, he even told me my neck is strained from not sleeping well. Haha
But the thai massage focuses on muscles, so it is different. I think I like the thai one better!
This time, it is a foot, head and neck massage. I added a manicure service too so they could attend to my nails while I'm relaxing. The manicure only costs SGD 8. Imagine?
I did not spend more than 20 bucks on the whole service. Cheap huh?
All in all, this holiday has been very enjoyable, every bit of it. The shopping, the hotel, the food, the company, the weather (it was sweltering, but good for shopping).
So much so that we've booked our next holiday back to BKK in Sept. Hahaha
I went Central with Jenn yesterday and didn't feel like shopping here anymore. Everything is so expensive! haha
Ta!

Caught Slumdog Millionaire on Monday, very nice show. (Much better than Doubt!) The accent isn't overpowering, there is no dancing until the end of the movie and the storyline is bittersweet.
Not surprised that it got itself nominated for some Oscars.
Dinner today was at Cafe Biz, Trader's Hotel. The food was nice, I liked the dessert section best. Another round of feasting at Concorde Hotel tomorrow beckons. With all these food tasting sessions, I think I will pack on the pounds very very soon.
Some things happened at work, for some unknown reason. Almost like a natural evolution, something I saw coming but did nothing to stop it from becaming a reality.
It doesn't affect me much but it just feels funny. I think that's why people say you need to draw a clear line sometimes.
Oh yah! Bumped into Jean and Jennifer at the MRT station on Wednesday. At least the train ride to work that morning was less boring. =)
It was kinda fun chatting, catching up (I know it's a weird place to catch up), especially with Jean cos I didn't see much of her during the recent Chinese New Year.
Anyway Jean, now that you are working near your sis and I, there is no reason not to meet up more often k? Hahah.
It's already Friday tomorrow. TGIF, I guess.
I wanna go Cotton On again, I bought some amazing shorts that day for really cheap! Being totally random in this entry.
Okay, nights all! Gonna pay my sleep debt now.
How was the dinner? Jacq's face says it all. =)
Moving on to Valentine's Day 2009!
Dear brought me to Mariner's yesterday for dinner. The entire restaurant was decorated really beautifully and they gave flowers to every lady in the house, so I was the happy recipient of one stalk too. Hehe
As at 10am yesterday, all seats to Slumdog Millionaire and Benjamin Button were taken. Can you imagine, all FULL? 10am?? Had I woke up any later, we probably have nothing to catch. Hahah
So we had to settle for Doubt, considering Meryl Streep was nominated for Best Actress for this film.
Well, I don't know if many of you will like the movie. I didn't, too boring for me. So not much reviews from me for this. =)
Not to worry though, there's 'He's just not that into you' and 'Marley and me' next week and 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' soon. I caught the trailer.
It totally caught me off guard cos we agreed that in such lean times, we had to scale our gift budget to 50 bucks, and see what he did - to pull a fast one on me.
I was totally shell-shocked when I saw the paper bag, he just kept laughing..
The gift I bought him exceeded the 50 bucks budget of course (difficult to get something less than 50 these days), but not by this much! Haha
Unwrapping the bag, with much anticipation!
Speedy 30!
Bliss.
Just to share a quote I saw from Mariner's yesterday, part of their decor was using coloured markers to write Valentine's quotes on their mirrors (very pretty).........................
"Lucky is the man who is the first love of a woman, but luckier is the woman who is the last love of a man."
How true.
Here's wishing that all of you can find that one person to whom you are the last woman they love.
Loves,
Gina
The dinner was okay but my contact lens was stinging my left eye the whole time. I was like the green-eyed monster (literally) except that it was red. Yuck, I had more than one impulse to pull the lens out altogether but that would just render me blind.
Figured that being one eye red is better.
After dinner, we drove Jacq back to her hostel which was an extremely long journey from White Sands if you understand but thank goodness for the Latio, cos I can't imagine her going through the same distance at that time - it was late. Plus, she isn't exactly feeling well.
The reason why I'm blogging at this hour when I'm usually asleep is because I slept the bulk of this afternoon plus the heavy buffet dinner, so I'm slightly energetic now. Still, I am sure all this will pass at the end of this entry and I'll probably lumber to my bed to snooze.
Anyway, week ahead looks good. There is a CD retreat on Tuesday which will be held at SMU. Am also meeting cousin on the same day to collect some of my altered dresses from Far East Plaza.
Coming Saturday's Valentine's Day! Dear's already booked our dinner for the evening! It's our 3rd V-day and nothing's changed. He still makes me feel extremely loved each and everyday. =)
And come the following Sunday, I will be on a plane to Bangkok! It's a little late but it's like a post V-day trip for us!
More shopping then! I know it's the recession and all of a sudden, the word 'shopping' becomes vulgar, but this is EXACTLY why you should shop in the Land of Smiles. Because everything is in BAHT.
Alrighty, getting sleepy now (What did I tell you?). I'll be back as soon as something exciting happens in my life and I have exactly my standards for that. Haha
Ta guys! Miss ya all!
Omg, Bride Wars is AMAZING!
I have no idea how 8days only gave it 1.5 stars. If you ask me, it deserves at least 4 stars!

SPOILERS ahead!
Just exit if you have not watched and is planning to!

If you haven't already realised, the movie is not about marriage. (Okay, maybe a very small part). The main idea of this movie is friendship.
Cheers to that.
