2nd year anniversary with MOF
Thursday, April 23 9:12 PM
Today marks my 2nd year in MOF. How time flies. Hahaha, it almost feels like only not too long ago I strode through the big doors of the Treasury. If anyone asked me about a key milestone in my life, I think MOF would be one of the nominees. I made many friends here, had lotsa fun, learnt so many stuff. I definitely want to be here for a while more. =)In other news, Analyn's dad-in-law passed away this morning from cancer. The whole group of us will be going down to visit her at the wake tomorrow. This week has been extremely busy, can't wait for the week to end. Saturday is the last CHRA class and I originally wanted to buy the Instax film to bring along to take for momento, but haven't had the time to go get them, maybe during lunch tomorrow. And I can't wait for Sunday to come. A whole lot of fun, shopping, breakfast-in-bed, snacking, getaway, alone time awaits!Okay, need to rest well today, I'm so tired.Bye! XoXogina

For a good hour or so yesterday, I wished I turned invisible. Either that, or master a skill such that I can induce myself to faint.None of it worked. It was extremely traumatising. Away from that, I think telecommuting makes me more tired cos I tend to start earlier and log off later. Not complaining though since I don't need to travel to get to work. That's already a huge plus. Drawback is that the next day, I need to lug my lappie back to work. The laptop's not the heavy one, the adapter is the killer. I watched the Taiwanese version of 'Don't forget the Lyrics' but it involves mainly celebs and singers. It was hilarious, but sometimes I don't get Harlem Yu. Looks like he is trying a little hard to look young. Just my 2 cents.Looking forward to this weekend. I'm flying off this Sunday, which also means I can't catch the Star Awards. Not that I am die-hard too since I can already predict the headlines on Sunday - 'Little Nonya bags xx awards!' I just wanna know what they are gonna wear this year. Every year.Guess I'll just catch the repeat telecast. Caught up with Elias yesterday. He's still the same, he misspells my chinese name. There is no 'g' behind bin, Elias. Sigh. A Honda accord there costs only 5k, so frigging cheap. You can't even get leather seats on the Accord here with the same amount. HahaOkay, that's all for the day. Tag more often k, guys? Bye!
17 again
Sunday, April 19 1:43 AM
It's 1.45am on a Saturday again. Just reached home and bathed not too long ago, waiting for hair to dry now. Oh yah, speaking of hair, I rebonded mine last Thursday and I love it! =) It's much neater like before. Happy. CHRA class today and there was a bit of drama cos when I reached the class, I started fumbling for my phone and realised .. I don't have it!! Could it be in the car? I don't recall taking out in the car. Could it be at home?? Borrowed Joan's hp and called Robin to check the car. Nothing. Called home and asked Dad to check. Bingo, phone's on the coffee table! Must have left it there when I was eating the muffin. So had to trouble Dear to go down to collect for me and bring it to me in the evening when we meet. I'm telling you, the whole day without my phone, I felt totally l.o.s.t. The feeling is pretty indescribable and I never knew a small thing like this could make me feel so paralysed. After today's incident, I will do double checks when I leave the house. Thank god, at least, that I didn't lose the phone.Oh yes, I always knew the world is small and you end up meeting people who know people you know. But after almost 2 months, I realised Joan (CHRA coursemate) and I have a mutual friend - Sharon. In fact, Joan's boyfriend is Sharon's boyfriend's friend. Since I was kinda acquainted with her and her group earlier, I actually have some recollection of who Joan's boyfriend is. In short, Sharon is our mutual friend and we were all in the same school 3 years ago but we all didn't know each other then. Imagine all the times we passed by each other in campus, not knowing one day we'll be coursemates. We went on and on talking about it, wondering why we didn't realise it in the first place. Hehe, so funny. I made so many wonderful friends through this course and next week's already the last module. Will be held at NUS Guild House. Time flies especially when you're enjoying it. Quite sad thinking the class is finally ending after 2 whole months of seeing each other but I shall endeavour to keep in touch with all of them! =)I'm even thinking of bringing my Instax down so we could have a snapping good time. Yay! Polaroid session! Anyway, CHRA ended and dear came shortly. We went shopping after reaching town and he bought me a dress. I also managed to get 3 pairs of earrings! Hehe, I am controlling on spending cos we're flying off for a short holiday next Sunday. Can't wait, need a break. We caught 17 again this week and I have a problem..... I think I'm crushing on Zac Efron!!
To be honest, I had my doubts about this show before watching it but it's really funny and touching. Zac Efron's doll face and basketball tricks were just the topping of the pancakes. The film's really good so this is one I'd recommend! 5 popcorns!Tomorrow's day will be to hopefully find myself waking up after noon. (Gosh, I need sleep badly!) And maybe logon to my laptop to check some work-related emails till somewhere in the afternoon. Evening mass at 6pm, followed by BBQ with Robin's friends at ECP. Telecommuting on Monday! Can sleep in a bit later. Wheee! Oh yes, thanks to those who replied on Facebook with regard to DBSS, Condo and HDB. We are currently assessing our options so nothing's firmed. On Parc Lumiere (DBSS at Simei), people practically queued after overnights (plural!) to get a unit so we are giving that a miss. And Shereen is right, the price of the DBSS does not justify a HDB flat. With the premium I am potentially paying, I could get myself a unit at Simei Green directly opposite, with gym facilities and swimming pool.Yes, I'm a little more familiar with housing and property prices recently. Last week, it was diamonds and the 100 things you need to know about the much desired rock of all time. Maybe, next week, it'll be parenting tips? Haha, KIDDING! Please don't take me seriously. My mum may just come and hound me thinking I'm preggers. Okay dokes, I'm going to expedite the drying of my hair. It's still damp. Already 2.12pm. I hope I sleep at least till 1.30pm tomorrow.Nights everybody. Love (Zac Efron!).XoXoGina

Went to our new house with our contractor yesterday. Gave our requirements and specifications to Peter (he's the same contractor who did all of our other 5 houses). Feel like fast forwarding to the time when the house is actually ready for us to move in. It won't be too long after my Hong Kong holiday. Can't wait! I hope it turns out to be beautiful, I don't want to move anymore. (Except to my very own house, this I can't wait too!)Gonna rebond my hair this Thursday. The chaos in Thailand is finally dissolving. That's all for today. Super tired. Happy, nonetheless. Bye.
Diamonds and Solitaires!
Sunday, April 12 1:03 AM
Blogging again at 1am while waiting for my hair to dry. Am very tired now so you would expect I made full use of my Saturday. HahahSpent the first half of my day at Allson doing my CHRA course. This week was on Training and the trainer was very engaging. The principles on SDF is a killer though, but I'll spare you guys the details. Gave my last Easter egg to Melina and made one more person happy. =) Lesson today was so fun, so before I knew it, it was already 5pm and dear was waiting for me opposite the hotel. Headed down and parked at PS. After which, we walked around PS and down the whole of Orchard for..... Ring Shopping!! =) In fact, we have been ring shopping quite a bit in the recent weeks, going through the many many jewellery galleries and shops. I think I have familiarised myself during the last week with the many brands of Solitaires they offer. Soo Kee is Brilliant RoseLee Hwa is DestineeGoldheart is Celestial D'Meyson is StarrsDear is even more proficient, I was so impressed. Haha, he knows what to look for in a Solitaire's Cut, Colour, Clarity, Carat, Certificate and the number of facets. I was like, Wow. If I hadn't known better, I would think he sells Solitaires for a living. HahahSo we thronged the many shops and I mmmmmmaaaaayyyy have shortlisted a couple. Hehe. I was never quite a fan of diamonds and rings but after trying so many of them, I think it is starting to grow on me. I even professed that I have ring fingers (which by my own definition means fingers which are born to be accesorised with rings, diamond ones.) But just ignore me, I'm being silly. HahaAfter ring shopping, we went for dinner at Carls Junior. We used our UOB dining vouchers, so we only paid 6 bucks for the very filling dinner. I even ordered milkshake, so indulgent right? Hahha. Dear finally tried his thickburger, endorsed by Ed.is.on. Continued to shop a bit, and then went for Fast and Furious 4 at 9pm. I also happened to have caught Nicholas Cage's Knowing yesterday, so if you ask me, I'd tell you I prefer Knowing. It's the opposite for Robin, he's a fan of fast cars. =) In other news, DBS CEO Richard Stanley lost the battle against cancer. So sad. I hope doctors and R&D people work harder and find a cure against cancer soon, we're losing lots of great people through this cruel disease.Tomorrow's already Sunday. So fast! To think I was anticipating the 'long weekend' so what do you mean it's already gonna be over? =(Okay guys, indulge in all the Easter eggs tomorrow. If I wake up on time, I may head for Easter mass. Wow, my bro managed to buy something from Uniqlo. I am impressed he even managed to get in,. Must ask him how long he queued to get in. Flying in 2 weeks, can't wait. =)Yawn, good night!
Shopping!

I wanna blog about Tampines 1! Cos we managed to get there yesterday despite the madness crowd. The road all the way to Tampines was jammed so badly, there are only 2 reasons I can think off.- There was a match at the Tampines Stadium last evening which starts at 7.45pm
- The opening of Tampines 1.
We even had to make a detour into St 83 to get out of the jam. Quite crazy, if you ask me. When we could finally see the bright and shiny malls, we had a problem with finding a lot. (That's the problem with driving as opposed to taking public transport) We went round and round the MSCP near the library and at one point, almost gave up.
That was when Dear went one more round - determined to let me have the first dose of Tampines 1, when we finally located a lot. At Deck A3, no less. Yay!
Walked over and the human jam was like CNY in Chinatown. So many people. I think for once, Tampines Mall and Century Square felt neglected but again, I would expect the spillover effect with the 3 malls.
Eunice told me yesterday, she thinks Tampines is really self-contained. We have 3 freaking malls (and Tampines is not even that big to begin with. Think: Jurong), and Downtown East, as well as the entire line-up of mega IKEA, Giant and Courts, Expo nearby. Haha, she also mentioned our library and parks, but I don't think that is anything to shout about. Though I'd agree that we're pretty lucky in Tampines.
Guess Mum and Dad made a right choice by staying here all our lives. =) Haha
Anyway, Back to T1 (Tampines 1).
There were lots and lots of great shops. Not your usual anchor tenant like Metro, BHG or Isetan. I prayed and wished for Dorothy Perkins, Topshop and I got it!
Among the 100 over new shops there, we have Dorothy Perkins, Topshop/Topman, Cache Cache, Uniqlo (this was crazy, people had to queue to get in like it was some Gucci private sale), the flagship Espirit outlet, the biggest TIMES book store, Sketchers, Outfitter Girls, BYSI, Mitju, NET, Charmeleon, UrbanWrite, Springfield, Mulana, Promod, Adidas, Puma, Kappa, New Balance, NewUrbanMale, Jewel Pavilion, Lee Hwa Galleria and manymanymore!
The new mall also boasts great restaurants which I have been lemming for! Don't get hungry as I run you through the list which includes, Manpuku (similar concept gourmet town a la Shokudo and Marche), Sushi Tei, Thai Express, Kim Gary (yay!!!), F.I.S.H by Fish & Co, Secret Recipe, Subway, Bakerzin, Frolick, Max Sandwich Grill and Creamery and a huge huge Japanese supermart - Yamazaki Boulangerie Chaude (by Sun Moulin).
We settled for dinner at F.I.S.H cos everywhere was so packed and even at F.I.S.H, we waited for about 20 minutes to get in. It was so crowded, although we settled in around 8.15pm, we ordered the last Mozambique chicken. Haha
We are giving the place bout 1 month till the craze fizzles a little and then we will be back to do some serious shopping! Yay, I think with the new T1, I have lesser and lesser reason to go to town, they have literally brought the shops to me! It also means I have to control myself in these lean times not to overspend.
Hahah, so head down to the malls if you have nothing on over the weekend and would like some shoulder-rubbing with some of your Tampines homies. Haha, I won't be surprised if there are people who hail all the way from Jurong (like, Eunice). Haha
Okay, gotta go for now. Heading out in a bit.
Enjoy your Good Friday holiday! =)
Ta!

The recent rojak food poisoning case is really serious. So far, 2 fatalities. So sad. To be honest, I am really very curious to know what pathogen is that strong to kill humans in a matter of days. Life is very vulnerable so all of you, please take care! At least for now, let's heed MOH's call and maintain high standards of hygiene! Now, those who think I wash my hands a little too often know what I'm afraid of. There is also the recent quake in Italy which has claimed so many lives. So sad. Anyway, tomorrow is something to be happy about, cos Friday is a public holiday! Yay, it's time to catch up on sleep. I know, I'm forever lacking in this aspect. The PH also allows for a break before CHRA on Saturday morning. =)We drove to Changi Airport for dinner today cos I wanted to go Candy Empire. Bought $20++ of chocolate Easter eggs for everyone at work and at home. I wanted to get some Kinder Surprise, but everywhere seem to run out of it already!Tampines 1 opens tomorrow! I think people will be practically queuing overnight today to get into Uniqlo the first thing in the morning. HahahaI don't really know what else is in the store line-up at Tampines 1, but I sure hope I won't be disappointed. Give me some Dorothy Perkins, Topshop, Ms Selfridge so I don't need any reason to go town anymore. Hee. Speaking of shopping, I need to go shopping. Lacking in working and casual wear.I shall endeavour to visit the new mall with dear either tomorrow after work or over the long weekend (hopefully, the crowd does not get too crazy). I'm sure everyone else is also planning to do the same, so I guess I can't miss the crowd in anyway.Okay, sleepy already.. Need to head to my bed. Good night everyone. Have a wonderful Good Friday and Easter ahead!XoXoGina

Sunday, April 5 2:14 PM
Hello.
Gee, my last couple of weeks had been busybusy. Looking forward to the short week ahead, it's Good Friday this week! =)
The rows and rows of Easter eggs in supermarts are already making me feel like buying them. Okay, I relented that day at Candy Empire and indeed bought a couple.. The Kinder Bueno Surprise is also nice! It's not the same chocolate egg we used to see, it's now like this white chocolate with two wafer crisps balls which you need to use the spoon to dig in and eat. Yum.
Anyway, I caught Fanboys last night at Cine. It is well, any Starwars fan's must-catch flick of the year. Unless, you're equally proficient in the 6 Episodes, you may not understand some bits of the jokes which make referencee to the Stars Wars trilogy.
Class yesterday was FUN! This week was on Selection and the trainer from Australia was very engaging. I enjoy my weekend classes alot, except the part where I have to wake up at 6.30am to get ready. Haha
Dear came to pick me up after lesson and we drove to town. Dinner was at MOS burger; he had a sudden craving. I also managed to get a pretty dress, courtesy of him. =)
I only slept at 3am this morning but woke up around noon cos I was so hungry. I think I smelt dad cooking and true enough, when I woke up, I saw that there was fried rice in the cooker. Hehe
It's brunch la, so cut me some slack. Fried rice is perfectly fine and not overly indulging for a Sunday brunch. Hee. I also managed to catch the TVB drama - The Seventh Day.
It's a beautiful and sad love story of 2 couples. It's the final 5 episodes today. Watching it makes me wanna cry cos it's so so sad. Now that it's over, there's nothing nice to watch on Sunday anymore. Boo to that.
As I am typing away, I am hoping that by the end of this entry, I'll be tired enough to take another nap. Wanted to telecommute tomorrow but my laptop adaptor is giving me problems. Sigh.
Anyway, I need to shop soon but my wardrobe is bursting on me. Note to self: Get a much much bigger wardrobe for new house. It'll definitely be put into good use.
Can't wait to shift to our new house! =)
Can't wait to go on our short holiday to KL at the end of this month! =)
Can't wait to go on our HK holiday next month! =)
Can't wait for Tampines 1 to open this week! =)
