Update
Thursday, July 30 7:24 AM
Hello. Been out of touch for the past week. Have been busy working, houseviewing, attending course.Just poppin' by for a short update. It's already Thursday! This is not good cos the weekend is drawing near and I've got loads of work to clear from being away from office the last 2 days. Yet in a way, I look forward to Friday night so much cos that's when I know I can have an uninterrupted 12 hours of sleep. Sleep, I need it badly.Anyways, I'm meeting my cousins today for dinner and karaoke!! Wheeee. Meeting Jas, Jean and Jennifer! It's been a while, that reminds me to pack my cam into my bag. HeeAnd I'm also gonna meet the girls next Friday too, for some ice cream at the new ION. I've not been to ION so far so that would be nice and even at the new Orchard Central, I only did a brief scan. I am missing Orchard, which is partly due to the many weekend houseviewings in the East, which explains why we have been staying away from town for a while now. Ally celebrated her birthday on Monday! Happy belated birthday!! =) Can't wait to see you and your boys again next year. Also had the Rites of Acceptance in church last Sunday. Dear and his family were all with me. :)Okay, before I run late for work, I better log off soon.Nana
Update on Wedding # 1
Thursday, July 23 11:27 PM

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! The excitement's slowly building up for us as well as our families. =)
With the banquet, church and wedding / bridal planner settled, we have decided to focus and direct our efforts to our new house so be prepared to hear from me on lots of house viewings in the coming month or so. I do hope to get something by September so that I won't bore you guys for too long. Hee
Dear and I brought Mum and Dad to the hotel today. Shall not reveal it yet, will give you all a surprise later! =) All I'll say that is that the place is gorgeous. I totally love it and I don't know anyone who has done it there yet so far, so you can drop Raffles Hotel or Pan Pacific from the list. Hee.
We did consider Pan Pacific though but the pillars in the ballroom were kinda in the way. Instead, the venue we have picked is pillar-less and pretty pretty. Okay, I think I can go on and on so I better stop here and no worries, I'm not holding it at the Zoo or anything like that (although that seems to be the trend these days).
So! I have 10 months to drop like what, 10kg? (1kg per month!) I need to and I'm so not exaggerating here aight. I've been eating and slacking for too long. I shall resume going to the gym in the coming months. In fact, my new house has a running track all the way through to Pasir Ris park so I can put that to extremely good use. Ally also adviced me not to snip my hair too drastically in the coming few months to build up the length. Thank goodness for her or I would have totally forgotten about it.
I will also be dropping each and everyone of you an email on the details of the wedding soon, although it's still a while away. Cousins, girlfriends, look out for my email! =)
Anyway, it's already Friday tomorrow, feels really fast, largely cos I was away almost the first half of the week in KL. Photos are on facebook, do check it out ya! So are the photos from my cousin Pauline's recent 21st birthday bash at Downtown East chalet.
Coming Saturday will be spent at a HR course at York Hotel followed by dinner with my own as well as Dear's parents at my house. Sunday will be spent hosting relatives at my new place - it's housewarming! The 2nd half will be followed by the Rites of Acceptance at church. It's definitely gonna be tiring but I'm looking forward to every bit! =)
It's been a journey. The ride ahead will be even more exciting.
XoXo

House

Today's Bible Sunday. Attended mass @ noon and headed for a slew of house viewings. It went okay, although Dear and I really really liked the unit who saw yesterday near Tanah Merah condo and we even made an offer for that place.Sigh, too bad that the owner and agent's asking for quite an unreasonable amount which we are unlikely to accede to. I won't bore you with the figures here but just to give a sense, it's close to half a million. Is the market doing that well??And because half the day was spent negotiating on the cash over valuation (COV), it got me pretty disappointed to know that the selling party weren't keen to meet halfway (after all the effort!). Nonetheless, we have informed them of our threshold amount and told them to revert if they are keen. We may or may not get good news. In the meantime, Aden will continue to help us find our potential nest.Saturday was also spent viewing flats. Auntie Julie and Uncle Jason came along to join us. After the viewing, we headed to town. Dinner was at NewYork NewYork Deli at Centrepoint which did not disappoint. It was in fact, very good! We then headed back to Cine for our movie. Caught obsessed featuring Beyonce Knowles. I heard it didn't get very good reviews but I enjoyed the movie. Girls, you gotta watch it to know what I mean. =)In a blink of an eye, it's already Monday tomorrow. This week's gonna be a busy week again. Especially so since I'm flying off this Sunday and with a couple of reports due this week, I'm gonna be kept pretty busy till Friday. RCIA on Tuesday. Attending another wedding show on Thursday.Possible house viewings on Friday.Followed by a whole Day of Recollect on Saturday from 9am to 5pm and to zoom off that evening to Downtown East @ Pasir Ris for Pauline's 21st birthday bash. And finally, flying off on Sunday morning from T1.Speaking of which, I better change some currency tomorrow before I forget altogether. It's been a long and tiring weekend. Gotta crash.Nights.P/s I hope the agent calls us tomorrow with good news! I can really see myself living in that unit and hosting people in my new house. Plus, the Serta would definitely fit beautifully in the master bedroom! =) Please?XoXoGina
Random Friday
Saturday, July 11 12:02 AM
It's Friday! It is also the day where Theo will fly to Sydney to pursue his law degree. I think Dear's already missing him despite sending him off at the airport. You can't blame him, they've been friends since forever. Well, Theo's gonna be back in December for holidays so it really ain't that long till we see him again! =)Anyway, those on facebook would have known. I have this huge blueblack like the size of Africa sitting on my shin. How I got it amuses some,,like Analyn and Joanne. Okay. Now get this, I slammed the car door against my leg. Yah. I really did. When I told Analyn about it, she couldn't stop laughing and when she did, she asked me to find a car and demo it for her. She makes me feel like a video game. haha. Anyway, I don't recall it in slow mo, I just know that I wanted to close the car door but I forgot that my leg was still between the door and the car and the rest as they say is, history. Ouch. That already reminded me of how painful it was. I took a photo of the bruise (I know, that's how sick I am, hahaha) but I decided not to post it up anyway. Let's just say I'll be wearing a lot of pants in the coming week, haha! Dear and I are heading to a wedding show tomorrow! No idea what to expect since we haven't been to one so tomorrow will be quite an eye opener. We may be able to get ideas for our own wedding! In other news, I'm about to fly again. Next Sunday. I totally forgot about it cos it was booked quite a long time ago, think in January or March? Until Dear reminded me to apply for leave cos it was drawing close, I was like.. Ohhhh.. yah..hor....Yay, shopping soon! I wanna buy some new shoes so that I can get rid of the older ones at home. Ever since I've gone on frequent trips overseas, I have been shopping lesser and lesser in Singapore. I know that's mean cos it simply means I am boosting the economy of other countries but my own but things are really getting incredulously expensive here. I'm also making a trip to BKK again in September! While on this note, I can't believe we're already in the 2nd half of the year, how did time pass so quickly?Oh yah, bible pres mass this coming Sunday! Okay, that's all for tonight. =)Ciao!
SERTA!
Monday, July 6 11:37 PM
Yay! We bought our bed for the new house!! Got it from Serta after the many trips to Serta, Simmons and Slumberland.
With the purchase of the mattress and bedframe, we were given the Serta counting sheep! I think cos we spent quite a bit, we managed to convince the Serta lady to give us 2! Yay! 2 Serta counting sheep! I think the plush is hugely adorable! We even got to choose the numbers! Very significant numbers but I shan't bore you with that.
Can't wait to sleep on it soon!
This is not exactly what we got. We got ourselves a Serta Davenport mattress, a Serta bedframe, 1 bed bench (as you can see from the picture below), 4 pillows, 1 mattress protector and 2 sheeps! We chose suede for the material so I can picture it to be really pretty!

Okay, that's all for now. Heading down to Raffles Place again tomorrow. I hate that place - you can really get lost. More on that tomorrow or some day!Ta!

Meet the Parents
Saturday, July 4 11:49 PM
I'm usually home past midnight on Saturdays but today is slightly different cos I went out earlier. Here's what i did.
Lunch @ Tung Lok with Robin and folks. Dear came to pick me and my parents around noon and we headed down to Paramount Hotel. Aunty and Uncle reached slightly before us so when we got there, we were already assigned a table.
Had buffet so there were a variety of various dishes! Had Buddha Jumps Over the Wall for starters. The food was really good that while both sets of parents were busy bonding among themselves, Dear and I were just helping ourselves to the food. Hee
Lunch ended with dessert, lots of it. Honeydew sago, Almond longan pudding, herbal jelly, ice cream, red bean pancake! Yummm! =) I always like dessert best!
Lunch wrapped up around 3pm. Mum and Dad went over to Parkway for shopping, Aunty Julie and Uncle went home, Dear and I headed for our movie at Kallang Leisure Park. While we were there, we also visited Slumberland Gallery to take a look at their mattresses. I love the bedframe there!
Caught Duplicity. I didn't enjoy it, either it was too boring or the storyline failed to interest me. It's a story about spies scheming on some big plan and how they got played out in the end. I thought it would be nice from the thriller but I guess they went into too much details, so that pretty much took some fun out of it.
Movie ended around 6pm (the movie was a whole 2 hours and 5 mins!), we were contemplating to head to either Marina or Tampines. After tossing the coin (not literally though, we bet on the parking amount - even or odd digit, haha!), we made our way to Tampines. Headed to Serta to see the mattresses again. This is our second trip to Serta and we are really really keen in getting the bedframe and the mattress for our home! We have also been to Simmons and Slumberland but Serta wins us both. They will even throw in the Serta counting sheep plush toy when we purchase. Maybe we will drop by tomorrow for that! =)
Dinner was settled at Jack's place as we had Maybank vouchers. Whole dinner came up to close to 60 bucks so the voucher was well used. Hee
Oh yah, we went IKEA yesterday after work and I got myself a new book shelf. Have been wanting to get one since we shifted in but wanted to wait till I've settled everything in my room first before getting one so that I don't end up buying something that doesn't fit. And I'm glad we went down yesterday cos it was the start of their annual clearance! -squeals
The bookshelf I got? Only 59 buckaroos. Wanted to also get AL's MIKAEL drawers for my computer table too cos it's only like 80 bucks now? (He bought it close to $120) but the car couldn't take that many bulky items. So I settled for the book case, some classic IKEA hangers and a squeegee for the car (it's the scraper that you clean glass with).
Shall go back again soon. Yesterday was super packed, it seems like half of Singapore was there. We couldn't even get seats for the cafe. All we did (besides oggling at the swedish meatballs we couldn't have) was to buy 2 hotdog buns to go from the stand and headed elsewhere for dinner after we left IKEA.
Oh, I also happened to chance upon this website (thru Jas' blog) about this little girl, Charmaine who is putting on a brave fight with an illness. I read through the blog and understand that her mum is bringing up both Charmaine and her brother, Jase singlehandedly. She deserves a pat on the back too.
I think cases like these are very sad and it tugs on everyone's heartstrings. The little girl did nothing to deserve the pins and needles at such a tender age. I hope Charmaine and her family pulls through somehow and through the greatness of the Lord, regain her health gradually. We may not be able to do much for them but it'd be nice to keep them in your prayers. The website is copied here if you wish to take a look.
Okay, it's somehow, already midnight. I shall turn in early.
Nights all.
BUSY!
Wednesday, July 1 10:35 PM
I really don't have much time to blog. I'm so drained now I can feel myself melt away if I go lie on my bed - which I will, in 10 mins time.I wanna wish my dear Jaivyn a happy happy birthday! He turns 2 (?) on 30 June 09! I may be able to see him next year for his 3rd birthday when he makes his trip to Singapore, hopefully for a fab reason! =)
Work has been crazy. I was supposed to meet the girls today but by the time my day ended, it was what, 8? The train service at City Hall stopped for god-knows-how-long. I went in and attempted to wait a little but by then, more people started to come to the platform and trains from the opposite platform kept 'releasing' people who are transferring over so the station just got more and more and more packed. I decided to leave. I probably won't be able to get in the next 3 trains anyway, considering how many people are waiting to board in the earlier stations.Tapped my card and headed out. Raffles City Taxi Stand. The queue was L.O.N.G. I reckon I was not the only one who came out to find an alternative transport to our destination. The queue was hardly moving and at that moment, Dear called, surprised I was still in City Hall. I should have been tucking into my chawanmushi. He drove all the way down to relieve me of staying in the queue and we went for dinner at Bedok Blk 85. He also bought the Kube Mp3 for me. Have anyone seen that toy? It looks something like this. Yes, it's a 2Gb Mp3, apparently a local product. Something like the iPod Shuffle which does not give you a screen display. Nonetheless, it's cute as a button and it can serve as my Mp3 while I save money for the big hoohah. I was planning to get the 4th generation iPod Nano.
Oh well, gotta cut back a bit on my wants now. Shall open it tomorrow or the coming weekend to port some songs over. Will be at MICA for the 2nd half of the day tomorrow for an event. There's still a session by Fr J.J at church. Will see if I can make it. What else? Hmmm.. Oh! Mum bought me a memory pillow recently and I've been sleeping like a baby! Hahaha, lunch @ Tung Lok on Sat. Okay, that's all. I need to sleep and get away from a computer or anything that look like one.Ciao!
