I caught Year One over the weekend and it is hilarious, the sort of movie I laugh and cry to. I didn't get really fab reviews about this movie initially but decided to watch it anyway cos Bandslam wasn't available and we didn't regret it one bit. In fact, we loved it and still laugh about the jokes offline. Haha
The movie makes very strong Biblical references (and jokes about it) so if you don't know your bible well, you may not get some of the dry humour it is conveying. Just a sneak, there's a parody of Cain killing Abel, Abraham sacrificing Isaac as well as Sodom and Gomorrah. So go watch it if this sounds interesting to you! Similarly, if you take offence to such content, then maybe you want to give it a miss.
Bought another wedding mag after church today... This edition looks promising, lots of articles from brides-to-be on their preps and pictures of gowns! The previous copies I bought were just lots of adverts.. =(
Also stocked up on stationery @ Urban Write. Happy!
Had dinner with entire family @ Pu Tien. It's quite some delish stuff they serve there, I'm sure everyone including Dear enjoyed dinner.
The start of the week beckons again tomorrow. Not dreading it. On the contrary, I'm looking forward to going back to work cos with each passing day, I am counting down ... to lots of things!
Time to go bathe and sleep soon. Yes, I'm aiming to sleep by 10pm tonight, hopefully it's not too fetch'd a target. Hee. Am also thinking of taking 1/2 leave to go shopping some time soon. Anyone up for that? =) I need to shop badly. Urgh.

This is just so sad, cos I know what the ending's gonna be. It may sound silly but I follow Betty and Veronica on their official blogs.
Archie's gonna marry Ron. Nooooooooooooooo way!
He can't cos poor Bets' gonna be heartbroken. Sigh and will this mean the end of Archie comics since the love triangle between Archie, Ron and Betty is the very essence of this comic.
Wonder if the comic will reach us here too? I needa get my hands on it soon. Note to self: must visit the comic stand on Orchard Emerald if I head downtown tomorrow.
Any Archie fans here too? What do you think of the 'happily ever after?'

Did my part for charity. Bought the Soft Hands Kind Heart hand cream from Body Shop. All proceeds go towards helping little children in less developed areas of the world.
You even get a card to write to these young kids when you purchase the lotion and they will paste your card onto a big board which they will send over.
In addition, the lotion smells great and mositurises your skin really well (esp to you ladies who work in offices day in day out).
At only $19.90, what better time to do charity?
p/s. Sorry, couldn't help it, had to update with a mini entry. :P
I may go slow on my blogging in the months ahead or even consider a mini hiatus. Am getting really busy at work as well as with the preps. I hope I can resist the temptation to start blogging.
Look, it's already 11.11pm and I'm still at it. This is not good.. especially when I look like Tare panda the next morning.
Anyway, I'll try to update as and when.
Watch this space for my return, hopefully soon! Miss me till then!
Ta! =)

Went furniture shopping yesterday and today!
We visited quite a couple of places - Singapore Expo cos' they were having a Home Ideas 2009 fair, Lorenzo showroom, Mode Concept showroom, Mondi showroom, Navinzi showroom.
It was showrooms after showrooms but it was fun! The Singapore Expo fair was mainly interior designer firms. Sat down with a couple of the I.D firms to get some quotes and headed further in to check out the sofas, dining tables, TV consoles etc.
Driving past Bedok Reservoir ...
Robin is happy!
We also managed to find a dining table which we really like - may be getting that soon. Also went to Harvey to take a look at home appliances and we have decided on the models for a couple of them like refrigerator, washing machine and TV!
It's lots of ca$h outflow but our first home is slowly starting to build up! Happy! =)
It's back to work tomorrow, heading down to NTU for greenharvesting.
Hope everyone's had a great weekend.

Yay! Just came home from IKEA. Wanted to go there to get some decor inspirations and to also treat ourselves to some yummy swedish meatballs with cranberry sauce. In the end, we only managed to accomplish the first objective cos the diner's was too crowded and we couldn't get a seat plus we didn't want to wait around for people to finish which was kinda rude.
So we left for.......... AIRPORT! We always ended up going to airport for dinner as the fallback plan. Hahah, we love the atmosphere there plus the fact that we'll gonna hold our wedding there in 10 months.. and that we're flying next month for another short trip makes it a very happy place for us to be in. =) Speaking of which, I added a wedding ticker under my Profile tab. Hee
Anyway, we ended up having Popeye's for dinner. The queue took forever but the wait was worthwhile. I love love love the mash! (Yea, I know it's doing nothing to help me lose my 10kg, but it's so goooooood.)
It's back to work for most of us tomorrow and back to school for the other bulk of the people we know. It's been a , well, not very long, nor was it a very short weeknd. It just felt quite okay. Another day of break and I would be too lazy to go back to work. Haha
Mum and Jacq are also back from their short holiday. Mum even bought early mooncakes from Concorde Hotel! Looks damn nice, there's chocolate, cheese and red bean flavour. Can't wait to eat them.
Okay, that's all for now.
Au Revoire!
Dear and I went to get some renovation quotes today to get things started! This is something very new to me even though my family has shifted quite a number of times but all those times, I was never really very active when dealing with the interior designers so today was an eye-opener. It was fun anyways!
We also caught 'UP' and I LOVED IT! I know why they got so many good reviews from the many sources, cos the movie is all funny and sweet and touching.
Go watch! =)
Some stills from the movie which I managed to google online.
Oh yah! I also went to buy the July - December 09 edition of the Blissful Brides magazine to get some ideas on my gowns and some articles look interesting from the cover such as, 'Real brides share their secret beauty tips!' HahaIt also comes with this Blissful Brides card which entitles you to discounts at places featured in the magazine.
Okay, so inside the box, you will find 3 booklets. 1 really thick mag (which is also the main mag with the articles) and 2 thinner booklets.
One of them (the middle one) is the catalogue for Soo Kee. Don't need that now since I already got my wedding bands from there. And the 2nd thinner copy is this! A brides' journal!
Within the journal, there are segmented pages for different stages of your planning for the Big Day!
This page is the Wedding Checklist counting down from 6 months
And on this page, you have the Budget Planner! (very important cos it's such an expensive affair to get married in Singapore)
And the invitation list for the Bride's side..
And not forgetting the Groom..
The spine of the thick magazine. Theme is Falling in Love.
Okay, that's all for now.
Tomorrow's already Sunday. Somehow, the long weekend that everyone's been waiting for doesn't seem that long afterall. Just 2 more days to rest.
In other news, as I type now, Singapore turns a big 44! Happy Bday, big girl! Please remain prosperous and safe for all and that our currency continues to remain strong against the other foreign exchanges so that going overseas will be such a joy! Haha
Mum and Jacq's on a short overseas trip, hope they are enjoying themselves.
Okie, that's all for now. The magazines beckon.
Bye!
My dinner - fish & chips
Clara's dinner - seafood platter for 1
Some attempts at taking picture against the toilet mirror
Works better without flash?
Ok girls, K-box soon ya! Clara - Pls organise k? In other news, it's now 1.13am and I'm dying to crawl onto my bed and sleep for 12 hours straight cos I'm so tired.
Happy to know that there will be no more viewings to occupy my weekends and of cos that this is a super long weekend this week! PH on Monday!
We celebrated National Day at work today during NDOC together with all the other Ministries housed within the Treasury. It's my third National Day celebration here and it is very special to me cos this is one place where National Day is not just any other public holiday.
The foyer this afternoon was filled with people donning red shirts and waving the flags. Ministers and VIPs were standing in the front row watching the string of performances put up by little children and our own officers. Vehicles driving past can't help but to slow down to hear the songs or to just gather in the atmosphere - an atmosphere somewhat similar to a smaller scale of the actual NDP. This is something you need to see to feel it.
After the ceremony, we proceeded for buffet lunch with our other colleagues as part of the celebration. All in all, it had been a fun but short day. Short is no good when you have a long list of 'To-Dos'. I'll just do them over the extended weekend.
Okay, am getting really tired here. Nights!
p/s: need to get a copy of the styleweddings magazine to choose the design of my gown. Ideas are welcomed. No lace, pls. Thank you.
